Not sure if this is the right place for my post.
I can't make up my mind if I want to get a 700wx now or wait for Sprints Motorola Q. I had a 6700 but got frustrated trying to learn all the hacks to get it to work like I wanted to. Also didn't care for the size so I sold it which at times I do miss it. I don't think I will care to much about the Q not having a touch screen but need go play with the Verizon Q some more. I think I read the Sprints Q will be better then Verizon's. I think I will like the Q's form factor better then the 700wx. I'm not sure about the screen size differences. Does anyone know if the Q will have threaded sms like the 700p and I wonder if it will have Sprints picture mail, Sprint tv. I hope Sprint gets a black Motorola Q.
Any input is apprecated. :)

Well, I can't speak for the Q but I absolutely love my 700wx.

Definitely NO on the threaded SMS.
That is straight up Palm software. No one else.
I do not know if the hacked version which is working beautifully on WM5 devices will work on the PhoneEdition devices.
Picture Mail, SprintTV? I wouldn't bank on it. Regardless, SprintTV is the dumbest thing I have ever seen and I actually pity the PalmOS users who have to use that instead of a Slingbox, which if you want to watch TV on your device is the ONLY way to go. Luckily, it'll work on the MotoQ.
Either way, the 700wx is amazing. Best phone ever. Best PDA ever.

Hey Mala - you know what I am using right now - is the WX a better PHONE? I do email, a little SMS, love the sync'ing with my Outlook (I'm a sales guy and we are probably going to move to an Exchange server when we get a little bigger, so that could open up some additional service) and my Treo is my business and personal phone. But, it is not as good a PHONE as my Sanyo and LG's were. I really need a good phone and I don't want to carry two devices! ;)
So I am thinking about the WX, but I still like the ease of POS. However, I will not consider the P at least until a firmware upgrade comes out.
As always - thanks for your input.
edit - one other thing - is BT better on the WX than it is on the 650 (which I don't even use on the 650 for obvious reasons!)

Hey bubba,
1st, BT on the 700wx is as good at the 700P. This is, it's pretty horrible.
Reportedly Palm is working on the frequent "disconnect" issues people have, including myself (with the P 640 headset, though many are affected).
As far as a phone, it's as good as the 650, imo. Not too much difference. It does have cool stuff like "ignore with text", add unknown contact to your contact list after a phone call, known/unknown ringer options, call history via green button, on screen voicemail controls (forward, delete, save, etc).
It's been reliable, no freezes. Exchange is AWESOME. Best service out there and works very well.
Plus with the threaded SMS, it's pretty much like a Palm but more stable and newer. Unfortunately, you should wait till they fix the dreaded SMS bug that the 700wx has (can't send to Verizon or Tmobile). The fix is reportedly coming this month.

^Depends on your needs. They're apples and oranges.
If you want a full-fledged Pocket PC (touchscreen) with good phone functionality, go with the Treo.
If you want a very good phone with Smartphone functionality (no touchscreen) and super-slim form factor, go with the Q.
I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Q, because I don't need full Pocket PC, and I want great phone quality with slim form factor.

That's what I was thinking also - but with each passing day, it would be hard for me to imagine not having a touchscreen. And I have heard more than once that the keyboard feels uncomfortable. Now it seems the phone on my 650 works pretty darn well - I polled some folks I talk to often since my post above and they all said my phone sounded great - even better than other Sprint users. So I am gonna look at a P and/or the WX, but I am not going to do either until firmware upgrades happen for both.

I have been considering the Q but like you, I love my touch screen. I really want something smaller than my giant 700p. The features on my 700 are absolutely perfect for what I need but form factor is annoying. Unfortunately there are probably not too many Motorola Q users on Sprint users so your best bet is to go down to a Verizon store or Circuit City Verizon and play with one. That is what I think I am going to do at least.

I decided on the Treo wx and I should have it today. :) I'm pretty sure Sprints Motorola will work better then Verizons so I will play with it when it comes out and if I like it better then I might sell the 700wx. I know it will be hard for me to adjust to the size of the Treo after having a compact flip phone but hopefully it won't bother me as much as the 6700 did.
thanks for replys ;)

and TC for great tips and tricks ;)Yea so far I like the phone part a lot better then the 6700 and it seems to respond quick between program/settings ect. I think it will be a keeper for awhile but I just need to get used to the size since I'm used to flip phones.

yeah, it is certainly bigger but much more managable than the 6700
btw, in case you haven't read it yet, take a look at this thread: Tips-n-tricks
There are lots of "hidden" features on the 700wx (shortcuts, etc) that aren't obvious:

I played with Verizon's Q today for a little while and I do like it. Seems like the display is sharp. I really just want something that I can surf the web with. I think the 700wx is more then what I need but I guess I can just sell it if I like Sprints Q better. I think I like the keypad better on the 700wx but the form factor of the Q is really nice.
