I use the default notification on my 4050, but I'm getting tired of it. Whats another good tone for SMS?

I use the Voice Ringer. My Grandmother get's a kick out of it when she hears it. "New Message!" or... "New Voicemail!".... and for the Scheduler it says "Check your schedule!"

If you ask me. My phone is ghetto, and has bad grammar.LOL When the message isn't checked right away... it says... "You have........new message." INSTEAD OF "You have "A" new message."

Ahahahahaha" Its from crank yankers as well and its low and once I hear the first "knock knock" I know its something meaningless anyway, people dont send me text messages all the time so it works for me... Got it from 3gupload a while back for free.

If you are a member of DDN I would suggest you use the version off there because it allows you to make it louder with their volume tools. (Just look for my username and adjust it to 40%) Since I used it on the 8200 when I had it and thed 4500 now...it needs to be louder...but if you arent a member here it is... I looked for this about 3 months...bought the movie just to get this sound....and then a friend found it on a website....ENJOY

I got the ICQ file that I wanted. Someone said get I-Tunes software and you can convert files to AAC.. It converts my Wav ore MP3 files but not my QCP and one is a GCD I think. But I made the iCQ it was 57kbs and someone else pm'd me with it and his was louder and it was 52kbs so I am using that one. I also use a Jetsons Tone alert it was in MP3 format and I made it into AAC and it's 86kbs for that little alert tone. It's to the tune of Meet George Jetson. And I don't remember my 8200 doing this but on the 8300 I can set the seconds of the alert ringer.. If my 8200 did do it then I never new what it was for. But now I can set differen't tones for differen't seconds. Cause at 1st my ICQ UhOH was set for 5 seconds and kept repeating itself over and over in a row. Now it does it one time then repeats one time. I want a couple more alert tones. But I like my Jetsons one am using it now. Rose

my friend has the 4050 and claims he can't change the defaul SMS notification. that's can't be true can it?

I am sure you can change it under messaging somewhere. I do like the default tone that the 8300 was set on. It was one I used for the 8200.. But on my 8300 you can set the seconds for the tone and I don't remember my 8200 doing that. I know I had a pacman for startup or ending and it played a second too long.. I don't usually turn off my phone except when I get to work. So I should look for a good start up and shut down tones also. Rose

I had the Jetsons tones set as my notification for a couple of days and it worked great. I didn't change anything (that I know of) that would affect that, but now it just sounds a default ringer tone. I double checked that it was set correctly in the Settings menu, and also set it as such from the My Content/Ringers area, but to no avail. Any ideas?

If you don't know who that is, well its a squirrel that goes off about things that he doesn't like in the world in little animated videos. Pretty funny seeing a little squirrel get all mad and start cussing about starbucks coffee.

Here is that tone. It's still an MP3, just shrunk it down to the 1-2 seconds that the sound effect is.

It may be hard to hear at first because the voice is high like the old chipmunks cartoons. Try it a few times and you should hear it clearly. Then imagine that it is quiet and all of the sudden you hear "The babies are here" and you'll see why this is a cool sound effect.

I don't have the original wave file, but you could easily go to su.laursifer.com on your PC, grab the M4A file from me, and convert it to WAV without any quality loss.

I have an african grey parrot, so he picks up on my beeps and chirps that my phone makes, so I have to change the tone every few weeks, because he will make the sound, and I look at my phone and there is nothing there......

Right now, the alert on my Treo is the "Alarm Triangle" that sounds like a door bell. I had been using the "BEEP BEEP!" alarm one.... and I volunteer for a police department, and used to have nextel. Usually when I am in there, my text alert is the "incoming DC" *Beep beep* sound, I just love watching them squirm for their phones LOL!

EDIT: I forgot one more I used for awhile but forgot about when I got rid of nextel and got sprint. That AOL guy saying "You've Got Mail!" That one usually turned heads in a store LOL
