So I've been searching the posts and found little tid bits of information here and there. I went on the Sprint site and tried to get some answers.

But I really want to know is... what are the differences between these two models? It looks like the price is the same and one of the MAJOR differences is that one runs the Palm OS and the other runs some kind of Windows OS? Am I correct on that?

What are some of the other differences between these two models? Also, if anybody knows... are both models compatible with that new Rev A coming out soon?

You are correct in that the 700p runs Palm OS and the 700wx runs WM5. I personally own a 700wx and absolutely love it. Having owned several Windows Mobile devices, I was really comfortable with it. I didn't have any experience with Palm OS. So that made my decision really easy. There is some debate as to whether or not Rev. A will be available on the 700wx. It's a hardware issue that may or may not have a fix.

Hmm... thanx for the info! I've been reading about all this talk about Rev. A and how it will increase speed... so I'm thinking it might make sense to wait for the roll out of Rev. A before I buy a new phone, including the Treo :)

Where did you read that Rev.A would increase speed? It only increases the upload speed significantly, not the download speed. You'll be waiting at least a year for a Rev.A Treo.

There's no debate about Rev.A being available on the 700wx. There's only a few 700wx owners who are deluding themselves.

I wouldn't say that I am deluding myself. I was simply stating what others have been saying is all.

While the increase may be slight, they are stating that average download speeds also should increase to 450–800 kbps from 400-700 kbps. Not much, but it is an increase. As you stated, the biggest change will be in the upload speeds.

No, you're deluding yourself. Everyone knows exactly which Qualcomm chip comes in every 700wx and that the chip can't be upgraded to Rev.A

I'm so glad that you keep wasting your time to let everyone know that it can't be upgraded. How about you use your time more wisely like helping people instead of telling them that they are deluding themselves.

I educated you, didn't I? You're welcome.

You merely stated what others have been saying on other forums already. You educated no one.

What it really boils down to is which OS you like better, Windows mobile or Palm OS?

Personally for me I perfer Windows Mobile over Palm OS.

I think that's what it's really going to come down to... so I'll probably have to go into a store and play around with both of them to see what the differences are between the OS...

exactly, i was the store playing with the p, wx, and 6700, the p was eliminated right away because i was familiar with it(i got lost on menus and stuff like that) but if you use windows the wx should be familiar,, you think of it as a mini comp.
