Former Cingular customer here.... I was referred to Sprint by a friend of mine.
She uses her bluetooth phone to tether a Palm Zire 72... she says that the basic data plan she uses is only $5/month (apparently set up in February 06)...
When I set up my account, I chose the Katana. I knew it would not do Sprint TV at the time, which was okay, because I don't WANT Sprint TV...
However, I was told that the cheapest data plan I could get was the PCS Vision Pack, which is $15/month. All I want to do is use the web browser - I don't need PictureMail, and I especially am not going to use Sprint TV since my phone doesn't even support it!
What is this $5 plan she is on, is it a grandfathered plan no longer available? She says it is data only, no picturemail, no TV, etc. Is it something that is stil available that I could request?
If not, is there any possibility of getting retention to give me a discount on PCS Vision, since my phone doesn't even support half the features of the plan? (that I don't intend to use anyway)...
I never had so much trouble trying to figure out what cost what before I switched to Sprint... hoping this wasn't a bad move.
