I liked the keyboard on my treo 650. I miss it.

the 6700 keyboard isn't too bad (wish the red writing would show up at night)

I can't imagine webpages on the treo 700w. Do you have one? does it all fit in one column like you can do on the 6700?

ppc6700 has wifi built in. Evdo is cool... but it's nice knowing it's there.

ppc6700 screen drawing lags sometimes. that sucks. ( i wonder whta'ts the maximum memory allocation hack I can give it to speed it up?) but it's still usable. patience is a virtue. i heard the 6700 is fast.

TETHERING!!!! the ppc6700 can't be identified as tethering right? (wonder if that will change with a software upgrade? hence i'm not hyped to upgrade)

Ah but i have the evdo-no incoming calls problem :| (is there a fix for that yet?)

I need to choose one for the wife. I dont' want to order her the 700w and be jealous lol

anyone got any ideas? / info? it seems to me that i'd prefer the 6700.

No responses?

(i'm thinking about trying a 700W) as a phone.. and keeping the 6700 for data. I figure i can save money by cutting out my comcast ISP. it's not like i do a lot of downloading so i should be ok and would save 15 to 20 bucks a month.

THen if i hate the W, i can always sell it.

ppc6700 = pure garbage

the 700wx does everything that the 6700 does and a lot more. The 700wx tethers for free as well.

I guess your wx has built in wifi and larger screen huh? I have a 6700 and I'm extremely happy with it, I haven't have any problems with it. only thing ill give you is one handed use. to each its own buddy.

speed, stability, screen resolution, screen brightness, battery life, one-handed usage, build quality, earpiece volume and clarity, speakerphone volume and clarity, ringer volume, support from Sprint (the 6700 has been scrapped), volume switch, MUCH better keyboard backlighting, smaller size, etc.

The list goes on and on. Don't expect any of the 6700 fanboys (are there any left?) to touch anything on that list.

pretty much, theres a huge learning curve with the 6700..there are tons of tid bits that ull find everyday when using the 6700 (i still find stuff, ive had it for almost 6 months)

if ur wife isn't going to be willing to put the time into learning how to use her machine to the fullest capabilities, then id say go to with treo..if shes computer savvy and has patience, go with the 6700..

the treo does have the one handedness feature, thats always nice...

the 6700 seems more of a pda than phone...if ur wife is going to be using the phone option more than the pda part, get her the treo

both are good machines, and i think she would love both...

i dont have any problems with speed, screen is just fine for me, battery life yes its better on treo, one handed usages we can do that too theres a tutorial on ppcgeeks.com on how to do this. speaker phone naahh, its kinda like samsung loud. earpice volume is medium it doesnt go loud but its kinda low if you are outdoors. clarity is perfect i know that for sure. ringer volume is loud i guess it depends where you get your ringers. what do you mean by support from sprint? whats wrong with my volume switch? i dont have any problems with it, i always keep it high. keyboard backlighting, i do notice that symbols wont light when pressing the shift. stability is good on the 6700, maybe it was bad before the update but i couldnt tell you because i updated my phone right away before doing anything else.

Yup, didn't think so.

p.s. the 6700 doesn't have a volume switch like the Treos.
