Text and Pics cost

After doing some comparison's online with other cell phone service providers I finally figured out that Sprint is the only company that I know of that makes you add another Vision Pak service to avoid chages of sending-receiving pics. According to Verizon and Cingular this is included in there text plan while on the other end if your a customer like me with Sprint your stuck paying the data transfer rate everytime one of your friends sends you a pic. Correct me if im wrong on this information I stated above but is it only me that feels this is Sprint's way of forcing those to pay for this service to avoid the data transfer fee.

On top of this issue, I go to cancel my 2nd line that I have no phone for and Sprint wants a $150 cancel fee? on a $10 added line? what are they nuts. Another low ball way of digging money from its users.

I thought there was a $5 plan for just pix, without vision... not sure though

You are right, but Sprint's advantage is that for only $15/mo you can send and recieve unlimited picture mail, video mail, and have unlimited data usage. Cingular's closest comparison is the MEdia Max package for $29.99/mo.

On the cancellation fee, every carrier is the same. If you signed an agreement (which you always have to do), it costs $150-$200 to cancel, whether you lost the phone or not (or was stolen, etc.). It usually just cheaper to keep paying the $10/mo until the contract is up.

Cliff: There is a $5 web only and a $3 pictures only plan for Nextel phones only, if that's what you're referring to.

ya I plan to keep paying the $10 cause its cheaper in the end but I figured with a $10 add on you dont pay a seperate line cancel fee.

Unlimited IN Messaging PLUS 500 additional messages $10.00/month
Unlimited IN Messaging PLUS 1000 additional messages $15.00/month
Unlimited IN Messaging PLUS 2500 additional messages $20.00/month

that 10 dollars get you only 500 message outside of VZW customer. while the 10.00 one from sprint get you unlimited and if you go over a picture message on VZW is it 25 cents for each message. I am not sure how big the picture messages are on a Sprint but $0.03/KB does not seem so bad.

all my pix msg's are around 170k but just figure at 60k * .03 = 1.80 + .25 for the overage
