I prefer Palm OS, but I'm not totally opposed to Windows Mobile (Pocket PC and Smartphone editions).

Palm OS has a simple, get-it-done kind of interface. Somewhat solid, but lacks full multi-tasking ability in the OS itself (many apps provide it themselves).....yet.

Windows Mobile is fancy looking, and is kinda what we're used to.....if you use Windows. But also, it can be a little overcomplicated......in some aspects. However, many people have said that it's more stable than Palm OS; I suppose it depends on what you use it for.

For the most part, they both have the same capabilities, in the END (it can just depend on what applications you have to get).

But to cut this short, YOU should go see for yourself.....which OS your prefer. Handle them both, and make a decision. :)

I liked both treo wx and p

what did it for me, was the screen real estate. with palm the resolution is so good and nothing is cramped.
with the wx when you go to settings or even your today screen, there is so little room and so many things on the screen that you need to scroll to see everything, and it seems to tight to me.

I'm not SU staff, but I much prefer Palm OS. I demoed a 700p and a 6700, and the Palm OS wins in being:

1. Simpler to use - one button access to Calendar and email, SMS is threaded like IM instead of one at a time like WM5

2. able to be used with one hand instead of always on the touch screen - Windows is great on the computer because of the mouse, but on a phone, you should not have to use the stylis as a mouse, it is too cumbersome

3. Having the best apps - bunch of free aps out there for checkbook, games, etc.

If everything you use is Microsoft (hotmail or msn email, outlook, etc.) you might like Windows mobile, but until they change the UI, Palm is still the best.

I just upgraded from the Treo650 (PalmOS) to the 700P (PalmOS) and got a defective one. Although Sprint's sending a replacement, I'm wondering about the MS version. Any switchers out there?
Is the win sware stable yet?
I like the one handed aspect of the Treo, too. Aren't any of the Win or even RIM usuable without a stylus or touchscreen?
I've heard many Treo users complain about the screen res on the Win version.

thanx in advance
