Here is a concise guide to connect the 8400 and other Bluetooth devices and transfer contacts & files. Before first connecting the 8400 to other Bluetooth device:
1. Both devices must have BT enabled (On phone - Setting>Bluetooth Settings>Enable)
2. Name the Phone whatever you want or use default name (Setting>Bluetooth Settings>My Device Name). It can be changed after it is paired with other device.
3. Set Bluetooth features for phone at Settings>Bluetooth Settings>Permissions>OBEX/FPT/OPP>Ask (safer than always allow)
4. Enable the receiving device to be "seen". If not paired (connected) before, the receiving device cannot be hidden from other Bluetooth devices. Once paired and trusted, it can remain hidden.
5. Search for other devices (browse, connect...) from the contactor (searching device).
6. Once found, asked to make up and enter a password on both.
