A friend just got an 8400 (replaced an older 7300 flip), and when he set the phone to the silence-all mode, the Call Alarm alert still sounded. My 2300 does not do that. His 7300 did not do that.

Is this a quirk or is there another setting option to have alarms respect the silence all setting?

My 9000 does the same as an 8400 even if u set it to silence all the alarm will ring (i find it to be a great quality because sometimes i forget to leave my phone in silence all and i need to have the alarm ring for something important) what you guys can do is manually go to the settings then sounds and if its the same as my 9000 go to ringer/key vol. and where it says calendar/Alarm set the volume to off manually when your in an area where u dont want the alarm to go off, or simply set the alarm to off and when out of the situation where he needs no disruption from the phone set it back on.

...when he set the phone (#) to the silence-all mode, the Call Alarm alert still sounded...Is this a quirk or is there another setting option to have alarms respect the silence all setting?Guess he noticed that there is a "1 Beep" setting between Level 1 and Vibrate when you fully reduce the Ringer volume. Could have been it.

Well, the phone's manual says Silence-All silences everything. Makes me think this non-silencing of alarms is a software mistake.

Well, the phone's (#) manual says Silence-All silences everything. Makes me think this non-silencing of alarms is a software (#) mistake. When I put mine on "Ringer Off", which is the setting at the bottom of the lower left side volume button (or Settings>Sounds>Ringer/Key Volume>Ringer Volume), then get a call, no alert is sounded. Incidentally, if there is command that says "Silence All", I haven't found it.

Under Ringer Off is Silence All.
