I just replaced my 5600 with the 8400 and the one thing I don't like is the outside display when the light goes off it is blank with the 5600 you would still see clock in black also missed calls when I would return to it.
I did see where you can make outside display stay on but get warning of high battery use, actually the light will go off but you see your background signal etc. but it is still in color. Is this the way it is on all 8400 or is mine bad????

There's no sleep mode like on every other Sanyo?

I tried the "Always On" sleep mode for a few days. I thought the battery would be dead right away with it like that but it wasn't bad at all. Now its totally dark. If I want the clock I press the R/L button. The 7500 has the clock on the external screen all the time too. It was dark anyway so I don't really miss this feature.
