Has anyone invested in a blue tooth headset for their Sanyo 8400, I really want a new Blue Tooth headset, but there are so many options and I don't know where to even start.

I've been using the Plantronics 510 and so far been happy with it. The headset is big but it doesn't bother my ear like some other smaller headsets. Also it's the loudest bluetooth headset that I've used. I used it with my Fusic and for some reason it's even louder with the 8400. The on/off button is annoying because it's small but I deal with it. You can probably pick up a 510 headset on ebay for $40 or 50$.

Ive tried the Motorola H500, H700 and HS850 and the volumne was low on them. My buddies Plantronics headset is nice and loud. I'll probably look into one of theses this week.

I would have to second Tbaker and recommend the Plantronics Voyager 510. It's nice and loud and reasonably comfortable in the ear. At $50 you really can't go wrong.

I have been using an old H500 Moto and it works very well although my wife says I sound a little "tinny". I also have an older Earglove Blue Voice. The Earglove has very weak volume but I'm told I sound fine on it. I'll keep it as a back up only

I really like the design of the H500 but I don't know, I like the H700 too. I am gonna look around and I want to buy somewhere other than Best Buy where you are SOL if you have problems

I am getting the 8400 in the next day or two.. I also don't know where to begin with a headset since this is my 1st blue tooth phone.. Someone at work said Motorola is the best and today I was in Sprint and saw Motorola and Plantronics.. I want something small but if the bigger one is louder and better then I will go with that. If the phone is in one room of my house and I don't have the headset on can I just set it on my desk and will it flash or something to let me know a call is coming in and then I can put it on? I am going to read the c net reviews now.. I just like reading what works best with the 8400.. And I may do the 510 also now I don't know.. C Net list the Platronics 655 at am 8.3 and lots of people really like it but then several don't.. So I don't know yet but I would like to have one tomorrow since I am getting the phone tomorrow or Thursday.. Amazon has good reviews on the 510 so I need to decide.. I would like to spend about 50-75 bucks that is about all.. It said the 655 was 149 too much for me..
Thanks, Rose

Wow those are cool.. I wish there was one to match my exact blue on my phone hee hee.. That last one looks purple it's cool.. Someone else on here said to get the same one you suggested they use it on a cingular phone but they are getting ready to try it with the 8400.. I read reviews on a Plantronics 655 and Voyager 510 but someone at work said Motorola is best so I may go with the one you said.. I want pink or purple.. Thanks, Rose
I will now read reviews on that one..

I previously posted that my moto H500 worked pretty well but since then my wife complained that I sounded lousy. I went to the sprint store and got one of their WEP200 bt earpieces and it does work very well. I think I paid $80 for it and after that I went on to eBay and found that I could have bought one brand new for $15!!!! I guess a sucker is born every minute.
But at least it works well.

I just read where people like the WEP200.. I can't find the Motorola H700 in the differen't colors though Josh where are they? I found gold that is all.. Best Buy was 125 and Sprint was 99 I am sure I can find it cheaper on line.. Motorola's websoite said buy a H700 for 99 get another model # 850 or something free.. Ok I am editing here I did find the pink one at house and home gifts it is 53.99
Motorola H700 Pink Bluetooth Wireless Headset 98686H..
So it should be the same as all H700 I don't know what 98686H means and I know someone said someone was selling knock offs that didn't work but I like the pink one and if Sprint is 99 and Best Buy is 125 and this is 53.99 I am kind of leary but I like the pink.. Should I get it? I called Motorola directly and she said there is no pink H700 in the U.S. but overseas.. She said I can get the H500 for 63.99 in pink.. But she said the H700 is the latest model of there headset to come out so I would want the latest model.. The pink H700 is listed at this website for 53.99
http://www.houseandhomegifts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=0_10274&products_id=3798 Motorola just said if I have a problem with it they can't replace it with a pink one.. Rose

Ok so ebay says 27.99 buy now and then at this website that I found here it's 53.99
http://www.houseandhomegifts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=0_10274&products_id=3798
And then Best Buy is 125 and Sprint is 99 for them.. Motorola said the pink ones weren't out in the U.S. yet and I read on here about some that aren't really Motorola or something I forget now where I read it and what all it said that the packaging looked differen't and said B not A or something like that.. But you think it's ok for me to just buy now the pink one4 ebay and I'll be good.. Thanks for the link Rose

any bt ear piece will work with any bt enabled phone. doesnt matter the model, as long as its bt enabled.

I have 3 Moto H700's and get complaints about sound quality using them with both of my Katanas. Got them at Costco and Newegg so I'm sure they are genuine.
Lots of fakes Motos on e-bay from what I read.

I don't know what 98686H means
Hello everyone,
I am the owner of House and Home Gifts, the website that is linked to this forum.
98686H is the actual Motorola Model number for the Motorola H700 Pink Bluetooth Wireless Headset. It is not a knock off. It is the Motorola brand headset.
Currently we carry 4 different colors of the Motorola H700 Bluetooth Wireless Headset. I've included links to each color below.
Pink H700 - http://www.houseandhomegifts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=0_10274&products_id=3798
Blue H700 - http://www.houseandhomegifts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4056
Orange - http://www.houseandhomegifts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4071
Black - http://www.houseandhomegifts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3172
Compatible with Bluetooth 1.2- or 1.1-enabled mobile phones, PDAs, PCs, printers and more that support headset and hands-free profiles
At this time I do have all 4 in stock, but they are selling fast. If they are on the website, they are in stock. Once out of stock I will pull the item from my site. That way there will be no back-orders, or out of stock orders.

Rose,
I looked up the Sanyo SCP-8400 and it has Bluetooth version 1.1 on it. This is the information that you would require when looking for a wireless headset. The Motorola H700 headsets will work for your phone.
I hope this information was helpful.

Thank alot I will order a pink one now.. I just saw several on e-bay and one said buy now for 27.99 but I don't usually buy from ebay.. Have only bought one thing ever from there.. So I guess I wll buy from you at 53.99 still better Best Buy and Sprint prices for the plain colors.. Thanks everyone for your help!! All the H700 are identical in features right just differen't colors? Like the pink will flash different colors for different things.. I just got confused cause motorola said they don't have the Pink ones in the US yet in pink only in the H500 which they tried to sell me.. But they said the H700 was there latest headset made. Thanks again I will probably order one tonight...This bluetooth is all new to me. My1st bt phone.. So Hypoxia you got complaints that they didn't sound good? Is that it? Also I read on the H700 make sure it's the B model what does that mean? Someone over on Howard Forums said to get the B revision one so how do I know?
Thanks Again, Rose

Last night I did a comparison with an H700. I connected it to my computer and called my home using Skype. The voice was crystal clear. Then I connected it to a Katana & called the house, the sound from the headset is muffled, :headbang2 if I disconnect the headset & use the Katanas mic it is clear.
Seems to be a Katana issue for me, and I have 2. :bang:

I am sitting her waiting for UPS.. I already ordered a Pink H700 from wirless galaxy.. I called there and the girl said she has a black one that she has been using for a while and that it is the A version.. She has no idea about the pink one and said shipping opens at noon.. I have to call back.. I will have the headset tomorrow but if it is the A should I not get it and cancel my order?

Ok I called my Sprint store to see abouth the H700.. I may just get the silver and blue I don't want the silver and black.. Motorola said the pink one i ordered will come from overseas Asia or somewhere and they won't support it if something was to happen to it so I don't know whether to cancel my order and just buy one here locally at my Sprint store or not.. Also my Sprint store said they had this little white one for 89 that lots of people are buying and how they are getting great feedback on it.. She gave me a model # but I can't find it online.. I thought she said it was Samsung but it's not.. My 1st bluetooth phone and I want the right good headset.. Rose

do ya have a radioshack close by?
the white one is probably the h500. forget 89, to promote the katana, radioshack has the regular 69 dollar white h500 on sale for 49. i sold at least 3 so far in the past week
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2407826&cp=&origkw=h500&kw=h500&parentPage=search
Reg.: $69.99
You save: -$20.00
$49.99
(sale price)
Sale valid until 10/14/06
we sell a extended warranty, a radioshack service plan, available in a 1 or 2 yr coverage for added piece of mind. 1 yr is like 5.99 i think. everything we sell comes with a 90 day warranty, and some kind of manufacturers warranty where you go through the original company.
through motorola, the warranty is:
Manufacturer Parts Warranty
12 month
Manufacturer Labor Warranty
12 month
also, check out the h350 thats regular priced for 49. i recommend the h500, h350, or h700. ive owned about 8 bt headsets, and sell a variety of em, and i prefer the motorolas and push those to the customers.
heres the link to all the shack's bt earpieces

Well great now I don't know what to do if you say the H700 doesn't work well with the 8400? Anyone else use this combination? I cancelled my Pink H700 cause the lady was almost sure it was not Revision B and they didn't have them in stock anyway and I had paid for overnight.. Motorola said they don't support the pink one it's made overseas.. So what is the difference in the H500 and H700 I know the 700 is newer so I am assuming it's better.. I'll check intro Radio Shack thanks, Rose

h700 has noise canceling, is much much louder, has a boom mic to close, is also 119 compared to white h500 on sale for 49 from 69. black h500 is 69 , and black h350 is 49 regular. if you have a white 8400, get a white h500 esp since its on sale right now. but if you dont wanna spend much , i suggest the h350 any other time if the h500 wasnt on sale

I don't have white sorry I ordered a blue one... I said I should of ordered white cuase of Sprint telling me they have this one white headset that everyone is raving about but it was model HBX6200R and I couldn't find any info on it online... She said it was Samsung but it's not.. But If I was to get one if the H700 is better and the newest model I would get that one more than likely.. But I like the pink H500.. One guy at one of my Radios Shacks likes Plantronics.. I think I want to wait and see which ones people on here are having good luck with specifically with the 8400.. Thanks, Rose

Well I just spoke to UPS and they say my order is due out tomorrow I am so mad.. Sprint asked me over the phone do I want to pay 12 bucks for overnight and he said you will get it Wed definately by Thursday.. Yesterday I called got the tracking number and was told today.. Now Sprint tells me they have no option to offer anyone 12 bucks for over night and he apologized and said he would note my account if I get charged they will credit me that stinks.. So now I have to wait till tomorrow at least I am all off day.. She said between 9-7.. I have to leave my house at 4:00..
But yeah my Radio Shack has the pink and white H500 so I will read more reviews tonight and pick one up somewhere tomorrow since I am off. Thanks for your help

Are you using the H500 with the 8400 if so how is it? Josh where in KY are you from? Louisville here.. UPS told me today my phone wouldn't be here till tomorrow I was upset but I am off all day tomorrow which meant had to stay in all day and wait.. Then I get home from work and it's in front of my door under my mat. I was excited.. I do like the blue I guess.. I barely saw it at the Sprint store for a minute and kind of wished that I did white instead but I like the blue.. It's charging up now and is turned off.. Sprint said not to turn it on for 2 hours.. I want to at least add my contacts and try out power vision... I am going to have to add each ringer and background one at a time through focus.. What is the size for when I send a background? It probably wont list the 8400 size yet like 120 x 240 or what ever is it in my book? I guess I better start reading up on the phone since I have to wait till over an hour more till I can turn it on.. But from what everyone has said on here I think I am going to like it.. I got it for a good price and am selling my old one for more then Sprint would give me so I did good.. But I want to know everyone that has the 8400 what headset they use specifically with that phone and what you think of it.. Sprint told me that a white small one for 89 that everyone was really liking I thought they said Samsung but it wasn't.. I may try that one tomorrow.. Rose

If I was going to get the H500 which is cute small and comes in nice colors I would maybe get the H700 since it's the lastest newest model even though it's more.. If the H500 is good the H700 should be just as good or better right? I know it has more features.. But then one person said with the 8400 after 5 feet he heard static.. Today I will go to Radio Shack and look there is a couple around where I live.. Thanks, Rose
