Well folks Ive made my decision on the 8400. Ive seen and held the 8400 and I gotta say its not worth laying down $279.00 or puting the 9000 to rest. Ive seen the pics. the 8400 camera puts out, not impressed. I also put my 9000 side by side the 8400 on just about every thing I did with it. My 1st impression is I hate the key pad layout and most of all the green! Second, the screen isnt as sharp as the 9000. I know its such a small difference in size but the screen just seemed smaller as well. The size I admit is nice but I would have to say thats all. I know a few have bought it already and wont like MY impressions but my sole intentions are only to compare it to the 9000 and if its worthy of buying compared to that. If your not comparing it to the 9000 its a good phone, if your looking for an upgrade hold out for the M-1.

Like I said, comparing it to the 9000 its NOT an upgrade. It was never meant to be its upgrade.

I don't know how people can judge a phone so quick by just seeing a few pictures and playing with it for few minutes at a Sprint store. I was going to wait for the M1 but I couldn't resist trying the 8400. I hope the M1 is a great phone because there's going to be a lot of pissed off peeps if it's not. I'll probably get the M1 as well but only if the camera is a lot better then the 8400.

ok but the 8400 is still a step up from the 9000. i mean it has bluetooth, good camera, tranfer numbers to the sd card, wide screen mediaplayer,it has an EQ,and most of all its smaller and its not big and ugly.Lets move on the 9000 is old.

it's all about the bluetooth baby....and after 9 months of lugging the 9K around it was time for something smaller

My A900 was broken and I was considering this phone to replace it, but I couldn't pass up a chance at the A960 and I think it will hold me over to the M1. The 8400 looks decent but it just isn't for me.

When I had my 9000 I bought an A960. I went back to the 9000 5 hours later. The 960 is solid but lacked a memory card slot, need a steady hand to take pics, bad camera placement, terrible battery life, tiny non QVGA screen. Oh, a little thing I missed was the Ringer and Voice ringer. The OLED, copper housing and size is nice on the 960.
Can't wait to order the 8400. No store has it and telesales won't sell me one until tomorrow. I can wait.
I've heard the M1 will not have a memory card slot since it will most likely have 1G of internal memory. If it does come with a 2MP camera I'm all over it. If it doesn't then I will stick with the 8400 since I have a 1G card for it. I also heard the M1 price will be $379 so without major upgrades over the 8400 I don't see the extra $100 upgrade charge.

If the M1 comes with a memory card slot I will probably get it when I re up my contract in March, but if not I will probably go with the 8400, unless somthing else is out that is better.

from post #2 from this page http://www.pcsintel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=879#
it says:
"I met with our Sanyo rep last week and this is a phenomenal device. The only downfall is that it will not have rev a in it. It will have 1 gb memory built in, and of course all the standards as well as A2DP.
Launch date as of then was 11/5. Looks like a sweet phone. Supposed to be about 1 1/2 times the thickness of the Kitana."
i will go insane and fully shat my self if it gets released that soon , i was thinkin more mid to late december to make me crazy, but if its a early nov release, its early christmas present for me! :headbang2
