It has been a while since I have been lurking here, too busy with the family and work, but my I-500 has seen better days, but I have yet to find something to replace it. Anyone know of anything coming soon that matches these specs:

Flip/Clamshell Design
Touchscreen
Palm or Windows OS
EV-DO (or 1x even for that matter)
Bluetooth

All other features would just be extra.... any ideas?

All I know of is the Cingular HTC Star Trek (http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/13/cingular-3125-htc-star-trek-now-shipping/).

If you want bluetooth for headsets only, an adapter and the samsung i500 might fit the bill...

I know I could get an adapter, but as I said, the phone is starting to act screwy after a few years, and it is time to upgrade.

wirefly had a great deal with the Katana for free a few days ago for existing customers renewing their contract, but it that phone does not even have pop e-mail. I don't really know what to do now.

I need to be able to send and receive my pop e-mail, and I hate typing with the number pad - so graffitti or a keyboard is needed. I would like to have a normal browser I can work with my fantasy teams on - can't do it from any regular phone I have tried, I need bluetooth, and the ability to sync with outlook for calendar and contacts - all with a flip formfactor. Basically I need a new I-500 + bluetooth, and some updated speed and some other toys would be nice.

I thought Samsung released a clamshell phone running the Pocket PC OS, **** was ugly as hell.

The did release the i600, but it had no touch screen or bluetooth, and it is long gone now anyway. The i550 would have been great. No bluetooth, but it had everything else.. Too bad that was cancelled. I just love to log in, start a thread like this every few months in hopes that someone at samsung or sprint or somwhere will read it and it wll hit them - there is a demand for this!

I have a PPC 6700 at home I have never activated just because I couldn't take the form factor. I may bite the bullet and try it, but then it would probably reset my upgrade rebate availability even tough I haven't received one yet.

Sprint get a phone like that?

What, are you kidding?

"HHHAAAAHHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!"

Sorry, (wipes tears from eyes for laughing too hard) it's not you, I just had to get over the obvious question of asking SPCS for it!

OK time to update this post ... my requirements have changed, but alas they are still the same ...

Still using my i-500 for my personal phone (I have a 7130 for business phone)

I need a clamshell style flip phone with bluetooth that syncs with outlook for contacts and calendar. That is all. Music is nice. Windows or Palm is nice. All I really need is a flip that syncs with outlook for calendar and contacts. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, you would have to go to cingular for this one, Sprint will never get it. Check out Specs, Photo Gallery ect. I don't know much when it comes to 'Smart Phones' but this does seem sweet. http://www.dynamism.com/n75/main.shtml It's supposed to drop anytime now, but nobody seems to know exactly when.

It's a shame LG hasn't done a thing with Samsung's Palm technology. They purchased it a bit ago with what we thought was the hopes of a clamshell palm phone, but alas it was only a pipe dream. I still have my i500, but it sits and collects dust in my office. I have the 700p and it's buggy beyond belief. Sprint is horrible at supporting it's PDA phones. They'd much rather focus on new phones and force their customers into upgrading instead of fixing problems with current models.

I thought the i550 had bluetooth? I would've been plenty happy to live with the i550 and lose out on evdo until this next round of phones comes out.

well supposedly that pn-820 verizon has got terrible reviews. these days business users want a qwerty keypad on their smartphones, not a clamshell with t9 so very unlikely they will become popular again now that technology has moved past that imo.

Why hasen't Sprint got any high end Nokia phones?
