How does it compare to the fusic? Battery, signal stregth, screen, menus etc.
How's bluetooth?
It seems that the fusic is the only major competitor feature wise to the 8400.

Wow! Looks sweet in black.
How does the screen size and resolution compares to the 9000 or the 5600?

how is the color compared to the fusic? the 65k in color compared to the fusics 262k? that my biggest hold back. but its apparently only a 2 bit difference! but its a burning question i have.

WOW. I really like that. If I had the money I would be buying that black one. Maybe the white one need to see another pic of that.
cant wait to hear about what you think about it compared to the Fusic.

What is the price without a contract, and the price with a 2 yr contract. This guy I work with is plan on signing up with Sprint and I told him about this phone and he said he liked it, but he pointed out that he would rather have my 9K and I said that he could buy the 8400 with a 2yr contract and I would trade him my 9K for it with the memory card and other accessories and he said that he might do that. :)

At the Sprint store by me...its retailing at $279.99 if you buy it outright.
If you sign a new 2 year deal its..
$279.99-$150.00 so $129.99...and you can get further discount if they'll buy back your phone...which they bought my friends 8200 for $30 so he paid 100 total...but don't forget that upgrade fee unless you can get them to waive it!!

Ohhhh yeaaa baby............ thats the only thing that was really giving me second thoughts on this phone...i want to be able to do that stuff myself also...on the 8300 and 9000 for sanyo its not possible

The phone was $279.99 out the door. I added a line and got it for $129.99 because the rep wasn't going to sell it to me unless I added a line. I'll call custormer care and just have them cancel the line and bill me the $150.
The phone is charging right now but I do like it better then the 9000. I'm glad to be back with a Sanyo because of the QVGA and the click (hopefully less bugs).:fingers: I like using the web better with the 8400 compared to the Fusic because I like the 8400's directional pad better. The 8400 d-pad seems to scroll quicker and more smooth. Also the ok button is raised not flush like the Fusic. The one thing that annoys me with the Sanyo's is when you view something with some pictures you get "page to large" and then x'es for the pictures. I never had that issue with the Fusic. The Fusic's eapiece is more clear then the 8400 but I figured it would be. I like how you can hold down the volume button on the 8400 for a flashlight.

I'm liking this phone a lot. If this is your first Power Vision Phone, be prepared to kiss your grandfathered $10 Vision Plan goodbye. Once I got past that, everything else was enjoyable. The charger is the same Sanyo plug they've been using for years. It also has the universal barrel plug.
http://home.comcast.net/~rj.sommer/8400_04.jpg
The PowerVision is blazing fast. Sine this is my first PV phone I don't have a reference for comparison - sorry. I have no issues with the earpiece. I've been told I sound great. I think the earpiece is clear (but I never had a problem with prior Sanyos either), and I love the Bluetooth. It was easy to sync my headset (Plantronics Voyager 510) and I couldn't tell the difference between that and my wired earpiece. It was a nice change. I never had to take it out of the case to answer a call. This will be addicting. Hopefully the bluetooth will keep it in the case more leaving it less likely to be dropped on the floor.

The size is practically identical to the 8300. It's a little heavier and has a nice sturdy hinge. I haven't used it enough yet for a more thorough review.
Three things that frusterated me were the price ($279), the lack of a driver at this point to get my old contacts onto it. BitPim doesn't support it. Snapsnc says they have one in the works, and the camera. The 1.3mp is a nice improvement but the images seem grainy. The winerack pictured below was taken from the phone. I left the pic in it's original size. So while it takes a bigger pic than vga, I wouldn't say it's a much clearer pic. I haven't played with the settings yet so maybe I'll find a few secrets.

I've had the 4500 for a long time, its a great phone. But, it was starting to go. Screen was cracked, reception was starting to decrease. One question though: The new phone does not come with the infamous "Rodeo" ring. Don't get me wrong, I don't love the song, but, I associate that ring to work calls. I do on call technical support, and that ring very quickly annoys me awake at night and immediately let's me know "this call is from work". Long story short, does anyone know how I can get that ring onto my 8400? Email me at midknight00@yahoo.com if you do. Thanks a lot!

You guys realling need to adjust the camera. My 9000 and 7500 take awesome pics. I use the 640X480, Resolution-Fine, White Balance-Auto, Picture Mode-Normal. I think the pics come out great like this.
These pics are from the cruise ship. If you look closely in the first pic you can read the customs paperwork on the table. Not bad for a camera phone.

I agree that rjsommer only picture doesn't look that good but it's full size not 640x480 so it's not going to be as sharp. Maybe she moved a little when she took it? I'll take some outside pictures tomorrow and post them but I people can't rush judgement with just the few pictures that have been posted.

Got to wait on telesales to get the employee price -
My MM-9000 is really on its last leg and its about to break on so I am excited to get my 8400.
Is the battery not one piece now like the 9000. I read about the battery case issue. But the higher end phones have always had batteries that were one piece.
For those that had 9000 how does it compare.
I think I am going to just get the 8400. The M1 I am not sure about.

Your content with the 7500? I've been using a 7500 (back up) as my primary phone since July and I can't take that small screen anymore. Coming from a 9000 its major downgrade. No memory card slot is a killer also. I have a 1G SD in front of me that will go into the 8400.
Well I'm leaving for my local Sprint store now. I doubt that they will sell me one today but I just want to know if they will have them on the 1st.

Yes, I'm content. I hate that screen, believe me I do, but the *real* voice dialing on the 7500 is just way too great to give up. I finally taught my mom how to use it 3 weeks ago and she can't give it up either.

Can't really compare the pictures to other cameras without using the full-resolution images... that's when you see the real results...
a normal 1.3mp digicam will have a very crisp, focused picture... but it seems that all these damned cameraphones are really 640x480 CMOS' that just interpolate to create 1.3mp...

Please only post 8400 pictures in this thread. thanks :)
I sent my contacts one by one from my Fusic to my 8400 with no problems. It would be nice if you could transfer all contacts at once but I don't think you can. I paired my plantronics 510 bluetooth headset as well and it seems louder then when I use it with my Fusic. I've been playing with phone a lot and it's to early to judge the battery but so far it seems to drain quicker then the Fusic. I figured the Fusic battery would be better because it has a different battery (LiPolymer) that provides 4.5 hours talk time and the 8400 (Li-ion) provides 4.0 talk time.
Some things that I don't like so far
You can't change the d-pad buttons. I like to always use the right d-pad button for contacts and the up d-pad key for the web.
It might just be my phone or just me but it seems that the battery cover can come off kinda easy, it doesn't click into place. Hopefully this won't be a issue.
Soft keys don't have the block on them.

If I could procreate with a phone I would choose this phone. Its just smooth. I got the black one. I go back in forth wanting a pda size display but I just don't like lugging a brick around everywhere I go. I plan on trying the Motorolo Q when it comes out but right now I'm happy with a compact phone with a crisp QVGA display. I think I can browse some sites quicker on the web with the 8400 compared to a pda because to me the 8400 d-pad is easy to use, scrolls faster and the web is fast. Ok I'll let other people post some stuff I feel like crap and I'm going back to bed. lol

well the blue is sweet. the black is sweet too. i would have to make an in store decesion if I was going to get one of these. I do like the white in a way. I like the white of the fusic. definitely an in store decision if i was going to get one. wish i was though.

Lol.. oh ohhhhh, Battery cover doesnt snap into place and comes off easily... SD card comes out mysteriously w/o the door opening up.. hmm, the start of alot of bugs to come? What's going to be next...?
Never the less, this is a very beautiful phone, Last time I had a sanyo was the VM4500, I liked it, BUT I didnt like the flat bland boring look of the UI. Oh well, Like I said, i'm just waiting for the K1m...

wow, so i decided to drop by the local sprint store doing my break today and lo and behold they had the 8400 in stock. they only had the white one. my first thought was that it was so small... which isn't a bad thing, but the screen was much smaller than i would have hoped (coming from my 5500). i think with the size and the white, this phone is too "cute" for me. it looks more toyish than the Fusic tbh. i'll wait till i can play with the black one.

I just closed the battery cover and it snapped this time so it might just be me over reacting. As far as the sd card coming out it can be a fluke thing.
I prefer to buy Sanyo phones because they function very well and they usually are released with very few bugs. Also Sanyo is usually pretty quick releasing a software update if there are any bugs. I don't remember the 9000 having any bugs but it I think it had 4 or 5 software updates in a month. Now the blade it had so many issues they couldn't fix it with a software update so they had to make another model.

the Northville store in Michigan has 8400s for those that are looking in my area... (black only)
got to play with one for a good 5-10 minutes and I am impressed. The phone looks slick and feels *perfect* in hand. The screen is very nice, and the hinge is sort of in between the complete click hinge of the 7500 and the flush non-click hinge of the 5600/9000. In other words, I think it's great.

I am not sure on this phone(mine won't be here til Monday  )but I don't think that you can use the MP3's in the media folder as ringers. Wish it would work, but no other phones that way. They have to be in the ringers folder on your phone, correct me if I'm wrong.

Nice, nice, nice, james, so you have both top sanyos, which one feels better in your hand while texting, the 9k feels top heavy, is this the case with 8400? And where's the led indicator light?
james2K
09-30-2006, 12:01 PM
the 8400 is light and balanced, but i'm still getting used to the keypad. the buttons are a bit smaller than the 9K. the led indicator is in the flash like the 9k, but there is no multi-color indicator, just red and green. BT is great on this one, the best i've used yet with my h350.

BT on this thing f'n rocks... my buddy is already envious when i let him try it out (he's used all sorts of BT setups with motorolas)..and im using some half-ass platonics BT earpiece thats like a year old.
Reception is pretty decent, just a tad less than my vm4500/5500 had ... the sound quality is what i expect from sanyo and definitely better than the old 5500
The equalizer is very functional and is great because of the variety of music i listen to .. im only basing this opinion off of the speakerphone output of songs and adjusting the equalizer, have yet to use the earbuds that came with the unit. The external speaker is nice and strong, can really be turned up.
i'm on the hunt for a 2 gig sandisk micro-sd ...if anyone knows of an online retailer with a good deal on them , please point it out or shoot me a pm... ill go browse ebay and see what i can dig up.

transferring phone numbers/address book (one at a time though) ... and plus u can back your address book up to the micro-sd card or to sprint's wireless backup system, so really the BT option is really only useful if ur old handset has BT and u wanted to bring over ur numbers one at a time (until BitPim is updated and able to be used with the 8400)

A few hours ago I get a call from Sprint asking to do a survey about yesterday's call.
Survey Guy-"Were you satisfied with the rep that helped you?"
Me-"I didn't get helped because the rep had never heard of the phone I was trying to order. How come consumers know about upcoming products before Customer solutions or Telesales?"
Survey Guy-"So you weren't satisfied with the rep?"
Me-"Did you hear what I said. How about this? I order the Sanyo 8400 with you right now and you put Very Satisfied on every question."
Survey Guy-"I just do survey's I don't know about phones."
Me-"Are you serious? I don't have time for this, bye."

Sanyo 8400. awesome phone.
The menu system is a snap for those of you who are used to sanyo UI.
The reception/RF is ...amazing to say the least.
Where every other branded phone failed in my house and dropped tons of calls......I GET FULL BARS with this phone, and have not dropped a call yet. Truly amazing.
Now, all I have to do is wait for the M1 and if it is anything like this, we'll have hit the jackpot.
So far the phone is very snappy, menu is fast, UI is fast, everything about it works instantly and seems like the bug list will be very minimal.

Hi -- I've enjoyed the metal/rubber MM7400 for a few years now. Previous to that, every phone I owned showed signs of wear & tear after the first year (scratches, the silver paint would wear off and reveal white plastic, etc).
For the people that now own this phone, do you think I will be able to carry this around in my jeans pocket without worrying too my about wear & tear? The lighter black around the black version wouldn't happen to be rubber like the 7400 would it? (wishful thinking here!)
Or, has sanyo gotten better at their paint/finishes since, say the 5400?
Thanks!

Hell yeah, I missed having a Sanyo, they've given me the least problems of any phone, ever.
Green keypad doesn't attract me much but oh well...i usually turn the backlighting of the keypads off anyway...other than that minor detail i'd say we have a winner.
So far i'm won over.
Too bad I only bought it to hold me over for five days until my 5th Fusic gets from the warehouse to the sprint store so that I can pick it up.
Those bricking software updates are totally not cool.... i'm so anxious for one to fix the current problems i'll probably keep trying every single update that comes out until one works right. If I could get my money back or a flat out exchange for the 8400, I would.

hehe, i went back to my local store to see about my camera issue and they told me that they got 60 total, on thursday (20 of each color). that was weird to both the rep and myself because i live in an affiliate market and we never get phones that quick.
BTW, anyone in an IPCS market who wants to sign up or can upgrade should get this phone now. They're selling it for free with a $40 plan or higher and two-year. Another pathetic free phone sale to beef up the customer base, but discussion on that topic isn't relevant here.

i picked mine up this afternoon, played with the white one for about 20 mins before a rep actully helped me. my first thought was boy this phone is smaller then i thought! but once i opened it up it felt like a perfect size! my main concer boiled down to the down grade from 262k in color to 65k. but the qgva screen makes the 65k look amazing. the speaker phone quality is amazingly loud and clear, so is the ear piece. i asked the rep to hook up the PV which i though the full screen was weird cuz u have to turn the phone to the side. but its an option so i can watch it how i like. the click when it is open kinda bugs me but ive never had a sanyo flip before. the classic sounds that sanyo has on the phones are great, since i loved them when i had my 4900. the sub lcd is not to my liking wish it was more colorful and not so grainy but love the it says sprint when im on the phone. the camera took amazing pics for someone who doeant take alot. the green leds dont bother me at all like it does for a bunch of ppl on this forum, and it lights up enough to be tolerated. i havent had the phone 24 hrs yet but so far all my biggest worries turned out to be nothing, and im glad that SU.com helped covince be to back to sanyo.

RF is similar with both phones, i dont notice any difference in my normal spots.

do you mean when the phone is open and its showing the sprint logo? the only way to turn it off is to go to settings>display>power save mode and turn on. about 30 sec into a call both the internal and external displays will power off.

I picked up a black one today in connecticut.. Can someone tell me where the Equalizer is (there's been a few mentioned of this, but I can't find it).
I paired my powerbook to the phone and dropped a few songs in the music folder. Is there a way to play these songs without connecting to the sprint music store each time?
Also, the phone-as-modem works great on the powerbook (over bluetooth). I don't live in an EVDO area, but it was still fast enough to check mail, etc.
Thanks a lot.

well if its anything like other media player phones. if you connect the phone via the usb cable then you can put the music files in the media folder on the phone. that will let it play through the media player. i would assume the equalizer is when your in the media player and you go to options and there should be an equalizer.

I put the minSD in the "My Favorites" section (as #1). This is where I choose the songs or playlists. As your playing a song hit "options". The EQ is in there. It gives you a choice of "Rock", "Rap", etc. settings. Remember you will only hear the difference with headphones.

Thanks! Got it. Playing music through the media player is much better (quicker) -- at it has the EQ. :)
FYI, when you browse the phone via bluetooth (FTP), the "MUSIC" folder is in the phone's memory (and accessible via the music store player), and the "MEDIA" folder is on the SD card (and accessible via the media player).

I got an 8400 on 9/29 and have been playing with it to figure out how to get my phone (#) book into it. I have about 200 entries and they're always saved via Datapilot to my laptop (#), running XP. After a lot of experimentation I have a method. Perhaps someone can improve on it. The process will also work from Outlook Express (#). Here are my notes from the process:
Copying phone book from DP
Export to Outlook Express
Go to OE, highlight all and copy (ctrl-C)
Go to Windows Explorer, Bluetooth exchange folder
Paste
Concatenate all the .vcf files into one file (e.g. AAA.VCF)
One way: go to DOS, in that folder, and "copy *.* AAA.VCF"
Delete all the other .VCF files, they're no longer needed and it will just clutter things up
On the phone, go to Tools-Bluetooth, and highlight your PC under the trusted devices. (You obviously have to have previously gotten that far in setting up Bluetooth to work with your PC/laptop.)
Hit Browse. It will connect to the PC and show your AAA file without the ".VCF"
"Get" the file. It will copy it to the microSD-phone book folder
Go to Tools-microSD-microSD Files-Phone Book
It will ask for your lock code which should be either the last 4 of your phone number or last 4 of your social
You should now see the AAA file in your list of files
Highlight it, hit Options-Restore
This will tell you that it will overwrite everything in your phone book. Presumably that will be ok. You'll then have all the contacts in your phone.

great question! how do you place mp3's on the phone for ringers?
I've found no way around this other than what Nino suggested above, using a uploading web service that sends a txt msg to ur phone and u follow the link. I'm disappointed about this, because i'm not about to pay .3 cents a kb for a AAC or MP3 ringer and heck if i'll even get 15$ a month vision just to upload 3-4 ringers a month and only use the data side of vision ...
guess ill have to do the 2 free months of vision and upload some dope ass ringers and a few snippets of classic mp3's and be content with that.
It doesn't make since to me, because if you assign folders to be made on the SD card, a ringers folder is created along with the Media folder and a few others...and also on this note, since futuredial/snapsync and bitpim...whatever , one of those programs in general , accesses the main memory (which is nearly 60mb on this phone) i don't see why properly sized, mono mp3's that are 30sec's or less can't be transferred to this main, internal memory .... big thumbs down to this imho... midi and qcp ringtones can still be transferred... just no rhyme of reason to why other data (aac and mp3) can't be moved over, saving a owner 15 a months if thats all they have vision for & u better believe i'd donate 20-30$ maybe more a yr towards bitpim's paypal fund if this was an option.

mid-grade phone... the 8300 is the same way... really bothered me at first, but now it's just instinct to hit it twice real fast...
still surprised the 8300 doesn't have 'tabbed' or categories in the phone book.... does this new phone?
i like how 3 months after i buy my 7500, the phone of my dreams comes out.
flippin a...i cant see spending another 300 bucks for a new phone just for the bigger screen, white color, and card slot :-\ but knowing me ill probably end up buying it...
Phone of your deams, eh? The M1 doesn't come out for another month!! hehe jk.. (not really)
Seriously? She won't tell me the name of the caller? Omg, now I'm pissed.
Does your external screen backlight stay on all the time? Mine does and I know this will drain the battery. I can't find how to turn it off.
So this phone doesn't have pre-recorded voice dialing? It's a pretty cool feature, but not a deal-breaker. I make a custom QCP ringers for frequent callers (AAC is WWAAAYYY too big for it's quality)... and I'm not surprised they left out this feature... they still want people to buy their HIGH-END phones...
I hope that all future phones don't have that damn walking Sprint advertisement on the outer LCD, like I see on the fusic... that really bothers me... I should be getting paid to advertise for them, or at least some sort of discount... maybe that's just me... I'd even sand off the sprint logo if I could... but I think it would cause problems when I tried to have the phone repaired or replaced, or maybe even activated...

The feautre they are discussing is used to tell u via the ringer setting... like audibly ... it would announce the caller's name if they were in ur phone book . 'Incoming call from ...' and such.
It still tells u who is calling visually on the external and internal display and if they aren't in ur phone book it states the state the call is coming from , u can also designate video clips/pics and certain ringers for certain callers...
the audible announcing of the callers name and the lack of the ability to enter the last 4 digits of a contacts phone number (then press talk) has been proven to not be features on this phone. (that second feature I applaud users of because the only contact I can recall the last 4 digits of is my parents and supervisor's work number lol, i rely upon my address book a lil much and have been using a cell exclusively for the last 5 yrs , no home phone)

On most Sanyo phones (even the 8300) you can select "Ringer and Voice". The phone will ring then a lady will tell you the name of the person calling (if its in your address book). I never had to look at my phone to know who was calling. The 8400 has the Ringer and Voice option. However the phone rings and she says "Incoming Call", not the name. I'm bothered by this. Oh, and the green keys too, they are dull unlike the blue.

Are you guys starting to regret getting this phone? It's still kinda early but I'm a little disappointed that the phone doesn't have the voice dial feature that other Sanyos have had and some of my pictures turned out weird (see 8400 picture thread). Another thing that I don't like is how the speaker holes are kinda big. I have a feeling dust will get in there. Would be nice if you could take the speaker cover off to clean inside there. However I really like the size/build of the phone etc, so it's probably a keeper for me. Hopefully concrete specs comes out within 30 days and then I'll make my decesion if I want to keep it or not but I probably will just sell the 8400 if I like the m1 better.
yeah i am its too small i might get the fusicHa man you change your mind more then me. The Fusic is a tad thinner but longer. To me the 8400 feels more balanced and solid in my big hands compared to the Fusic. I don't really like thin phones because they just seem more akward to hold.

I could never own a LG , the build quality just isn't there for something I plan on keeping 2-3 years. The 8400 is no vm4500/5000 but the size is great, doesn't feel bulky in my front pockets like the 5500 did (not really bulky, just noticeably there)
I must agree with tbakers comments about large hands and this phone being easy to use.
I don't regret buying it all, all phones have quirks and negatives...haven't seen one to date that didn't... it's the overall functionality of the phone, reception, and clarity that has won me over (BT especially) and the ability to use a media transflash card (however not being able to transfer mp3 ringers over via usb w/o using vision and uploads is a huge negative imho, but i guess this is the same with all sprint phones)
out of 11 photos i've snapped in medium resolution, none have had tinting issues, all were taken outside with a somewhat overcast/cloudy day

Try the wireless backup app. It's $3 a month but worth every penny! Enter all your contacts on the pc and it will sync them to your phone. You can modify groups this way too.

I looked at the wireless backup but it seemed to say that it stored things at Sprint's server, not on your pc. Have you actually used it? Do they provide you with software or does it use something like Outlook to store the contacts?

That's true. The data is filled out and stored on the Sprint server, not the local pc. All I meant was that you can enter it from your pc instead of your phone. No additional software is required. It's just a web form that looks and feels like any other online phone book. You can designate numbers for home, cell, work, and "other" You can also assign groups. When you log off the server, the data is automatically uploaded to your phone. Visit here for a little more info https://wirelessbackup.sprint.com/jsp/helpPopup.jsp
What's even better is that say for instance you rename a few groups, add a few more entries, change someone's wireless number, etc from your phone, it automatically sends those changes to your wireless backup account. You don't have to manually sync - ever.

This phone does support Voice Tags. That puts my Ringer and Voice issue to rest. Contacts<Select Person<Options<Set Voice Tag<Add. In Ringer and Voice when you get a call it will ring once then say what you recorded.
With that now fixed the only thing that sucks is the green keys but I can deal with it.

Ok, so I got my 8400, not impressed with the interface, it takes too many steps to get to text messaging depending on the themes... etc. I dont like how Sanyo made the battery two pieces like the lower end phones too.

Ummm, I somewhat agree with the battery thing , but if it lasts as long as advertised, oh well...my cover stays on well and seems sturdy enough
as for getting to text messaging...no matter what theme, to get to txt messaging , i open the face and press the upwards direction on the directional pad... ready to send to whomever....
maybe ur speaking of retrieving msgs, which I find easy too... but this is ALL in comparison to a vm4500/5500.. one of the earlier MM sanyo phones that was avail

I think that was the whole idea behind having a favorites menu. You can customize favorites however you want. If you go to your text message inbox a lot, just add it to one of your favs.
What's so disturbing about a battery cover?

Its set up exactly like the MM-7500. I had been using the 7500 (back up phone for the last few months since I sold both my 9000) so the switch to the 8400 was easier.

Yes SIR! I made the Plunge. $299.59 retail at the Sprint store around the corner from my Job. Of course I paid hard core CASH! Only way I conduct transactions with Sprint.
So this is the 1st time I'm getting to play with it, since I had my Supervisor lock it up in her desk, sicne I work in a call center and those greedy lil munchers would love my new toy.
Let's see how he acts with me. I can't believe I bought another SANYO! WOW!

Ok now I really want this phone especially cause of the bluetooth.. I know green keys shouldn't be something to complain about but I love blue but since I have never had blue I'll live with green.. How do you get this phone for 54 bucks or free throuhg rententions? What did you guys say when you called? My upgrade isn't up till May I think.. But this is the perfect phone for me.. But I have the 10 dollar unlimited vision and text messaging plan now.. I guess I could live with 500 free I don't use that many a month.. My 8200 was blue my 8300 is silver... I love the blue on the 8400 looks nice. I want to go to my Sprint store tomorrow and see if they have blue and white to look at.. I don't want black.. I may have to call retentions..
And another question I don't know much about blue tooth never had it before.. But it would be nice to answer the phone without taking it ot of my purse less chance of dropping it.. Do all headsets go 30 feet or is there any that go longer? This would be so cool for me in my house if i hear my phone ring in the bedroom and am out in the living room or sitting at the computer I won't have to run back there.. I hope I find a small really good headset that is comfortable for me.. I so want this phone now..

Nice phone. Just got mine today! I bought BLUE :0-). I have not activated it yet, although the man in the store attempted to tell me, that if I bought it I would have to activate it there. I told him I was NOT going to do that, and I just wanna buy it.
Nice size. it is slippery, so I have to get a case for it tomorrow.
One thing, how do we get text messaging to adjust to T9 and just spell the word out as you type the keys? I'm sure it's simple. Just been out of this for a while. Been used to my A920 for almost a year.

LOL
I hate the antenna. I am so used to not having one since I got rid of my 5600 and bought the A920! The phone is tight. I just need to get used to it. I don't plan on keeping it long. Just a place holder until SAMSUNG releases something new(to my liking), then I'll give this to my friend.

I picked up my white one last night!!!! Very, very happy! I just had the pink katana, which bless it's little heart did all it could for me :p but I missed so many calls cause I couldn't hear the ringer and txt messages for that matter.
I loaded up all my content onto my new little guy here though and wow! I haven't missed a thing since 6pm yesterday :headbang2
Gonna keep playing with it, love everything about it so far except that when I hit the directional keys I'm used to it going to what the icon indicates, instead it scrolls around my icons, so I had to set up my fav's which I've never used on any of my phones before, but it's cool
