School Me on Palm, Treo, PDA Phones; Recommends!

Alright, looking at the october and november lineup im interested in the samsung i830

I currently have a pre-f&f plan with sanyo 5600.
Its about time for an upgrade, but this time i wanna go all out on a pda or something windows mobile, palm, or whatever.

For those that own one, how is the battery usage and how often do you have to recharge?

Are they a hassle to use judging by their size?

Im looking to get something with all the broadband capabilities (ive been out of the sprintusers loop for a while so ive lost track on the scene), bluetooth, qwerty, hgih res display, external memory slot, lots of memory, 1.x+ mp camera, etc. touchscreen? ya know, the works.

so what would you recommend now or in the future?

treo 700wx, its a great refined device. The i830 is just like verizon's the only benifit it has is GSM to use overseas so if you dont leave the country dont bother with it, its old technology being out with verizon a year or more now.

True, but it does come with WM5 AKU 2.6, so that's not too shabby.

To the OP, The i830 is certainly an interesting device (and expensive! est $749!) but at least it comes with 2 batteries, so that tells you something about battery life :lol: You'll have to wait till it comes out though for the reviews to get a better idea.

I think it's safe to say the majority of us, regardless of PDA type, benefit from re-charging every night, at least I consider it a habit now, not necessarily b/c I need it, but it's nice to be prepared for the next day.

I'm also very happy with the 700wx.

The future? Who knows. There will be some major, next-gen devices (newer hardware like Rev.A and WM5: Second Edition) Q2 or Q3 next year, but too early to really be specific.

cool, so the 700wx is the premiere recommend right now.. i see alot of threads about it.

so you guys are saying that new samsung will be better than the 700wx or be a lackluster?

If you must get a WinMo device, I'd say the Palm Treo 700wx, though I still maintain the 700p is a superior phone-first smartphone.
