Ok, maybe two.
Ive been considering a PPC-6700 for some time, but have held back due to not being used to the capabilities of a PDA phone
the only real thing I want to know is, as I have read on here in other places, are they all tetherable - without a PAM plan - I refuse to pay $40 dollars a month, just to check some email and check on a few other things. I'd have no problem paying for it, if my area even had EVDO speeds, but its just the plain vanilla dialup speed of old, if it had the high speed i'd make it my main connection for all computers I use, but regardless is the PPC-6700 Capable of doing this, without disabling a NAI, or is there a NAI to disable?
Also, what about those new 700p and 700wx PDA's? Are those capable the same way?

The PPC 6700 is tetherable without a PAM plan, though it is against the terms of service (not like they can tell and not like anyone cares- data usage will be the same between the two.)
The 700p and wx require additional hackery, though no more than any of these phones will require.
I would strongly recommend you go to a Sprint store and try one out, and imagine various situations where you will be using your phone in a hurry (things like quickly dialing a number, things like trying to make a call quickly, things like scrolling through your contacts list.) While most would agree it's a capable PDA (that's about the nicest thing I can say about the PPC 6700) , it is a horrible phone- as a phone it is worse than every other device in Sprint's non-smartphone lineup (mostly due to the clumsy on-screen keyboard, terrible contact scrolling, weak reception, tinny outgoing sound quality, and useless speakerphone... not to mention my experience with the unreliable phone software that apparently is a problem with Windows Mobile OS's altogether as the same problems I reported have been found in other HTC variants as well as phones such as the Motorola Q.)

I would also suggest that if u do go to the store know a little about the phones themself. Because before I got mine I played with the one at the store and it was super slow. But the reason for that was because loads of ppl play with them opening all most all the apps and windows mobile does not close applications by default when u hit the close button. So u have to do this in a menu or install a 3rd party app like magic button (my fav.) so if u play with them at the store remember to go to start/settings/system/memory/running programs/ and then u can stop all. ;) Personally I love my 6700 with the big screen and slide out keyboard. For more info u can stop by my site in my sig. :) hope this helps.

Yes, I think I will go with the 6700 (barring any forseen dislikes)
I use a BT headset most of the time, so quick calling wont be a problem (it does have voice recognition right? most of the expensive phones do)
one other question DATA port and charging port, one in the same, or a charger plug and a usb plug? if both, are they right next to eachother? When I hook up any of my phones I like them to charge off the data cable (thanks to gomadic for the ability to buy an inexpensive tip for the 6700)
and even better, its wifi capable, so my home network and school network will be great
hows that affect vision, for you 6700 users, does it just not access sprint internal stuff? or is the PDA home completely different from the phone home vision wise?
