Hello I'm just trying to figure out how to get the diffrent bonus/discounts i've read here I've had my service since 2002 and my phone (Sanyo 4900 rock solid) is older than two years, my contract renewed in March.
My current plan is 53.99 after tax (35.99 F&F, $10 vision picture, $7 n/w at 7) I've got both my home phone thru Sprint(Embarq) and DSL have never missed a payment. My account does have a spending limit which from what I've read may be going away soon.
How can I get a better deal like so many of you seem to have... BTW I'm disabled and on a fixed income and wanna keep things between $50-$60.
Thanks.
*BTW if I posted this in the wrong area please move/direct me to the right forum*

You say your contract renewed in March.... If you renewed your contract in March your options are limited - Did they give you something (incentive) to renew? Or could you still be out of contract?
If you are out of contract, simply check arround with all the carriers web sites and look at what they are offering by way of minutes and cost. T-Mobile is usually a good one to start with - also look in this forum to see what the current offers people are receiving.
Then call sprint and ask for cancellations. Tell the rep that you want to cancel and get Tmobile's offer of ________ (fill in the blank). They will then transfer you to retentions and retentions will offer you a similar package to what you say you found for Tmobile (or whomever). If you don't want exactly the package they offer you then TELL THEM WHAT YOU WANT!!!! They aren't mind readers - the reps don't know if you are looking for more minutes, or looking for a lower bill, or looking for extras, or looking for a new phone. So you have to say "What I am trying to do is ______________" If you want a new phone - Tell them, if you want to lower your bill - tell them. This doesn't mean you will get exactly what you want, but it gives the rep an idea of what they should offer.
If you see a plan or somethnig here that you would be interested in, tell them you "have a friend who is getting ___________" and you looked on sprints website and didn't see it but you are interested in something similar.
All I can really say is do your homework first - they will ask if another carrier has a plan that interest you - and since they know the other carrier's plans will know if you really looked at other carrires or are just making something up. You will get the best deal if they know you actually are looking at somone elses plan.
