I have had many many problems with the A900 and have had it switched out many many times. I have insurance on my phone, and just want a working phone. I was wondering if there is any chance since I have switched it out so many times that I can go to a store and pay the difference to get the 700WX? That's the only other phone that appeals to me and I am interested in the Windows mobile and being able to sync with outlook.

Anyone know if thats possible? I'd pay the $300 difference.

Before the "2nd Quarter Profit Disaster" and the "Retentions Crackdown" SURE!!!

YES YOU CAN :haha:

Now? who knows. if you catch the right rep and really lay the sugar on thick.

One of the phones on my account used to have an A900 (switched 3 times) and got the PPC 6700 for $150. It is possible, but I think you would get a better deal by calling retentions than to go to a store. Call and tell them your situation, and then ask them for the best price that they can give you in exchange for the A900....(they didnt ask for our old A900 back either)

CALL RETENTIONS!!!!! those poor people that work in the retail store are constantly bombarded with questions like this... its irritating says my friend... retentions is the best way to go... just be very calm and respectful and ask them for their help and don't say, i'm gonna cancel service, just mention very nicely that if the problem persists with 900 that you just have to switch carriers. they'll bend over backwords for ya...

Yeah, say that you're on your 4th (maybe 5th, I'm not too good with math) replacement, and the phone is still not working. They can see this and will know you're not lying to them. Just ask them nicely if they would allow you to pay the difference for a 700wx, and they should be able to work something out.

can they do it through the phone? The person I talked to said he notated it in my account so that they would be able to do it in the store for me and I would pay the $300 difference. I'm just wondering if the store will let me do that or not though.

If your willing to pay $300 for the Treo and they said they will notate the account so that you can get the phone in store...then I assume you can go get the phone for $300 in store.

Well, it's definately worth a try. Usually the stores and the call centers try to avoid each other, but sometimes they do work together. If the store won't let you do it, just call back and tell them that the store was being uncooperative, and you'd like to get it taken care of directly through the rep, if possible. Or, if they don't allow that, ask them to hold a conference call with the manager of the store that you visit, and get it sorted out that way.

Easiest thing to do if you have time and they wont help you at the store...tell them to contact CS for you since you have already been told one thing and you are just following what they asked you to do.
