I'm looking to get a new PDA/Phone. Doesnt really matter what OS it runs. I'm mainly looking for a QWERTY key board and the ability to view full HTML. Mainly to access MySpace and Facebook as I have an addiction. EVDO is a must. Any recomendations?
treo 700p :)
Just got one at a very good price when adding a line. Its expensive at full price :(

Don't buy any of the crap on sprint's current line, AJ2086. Wait for the Motorola Q coming out on Sprint in December. I'm in the same boat as you!.

You'll be disappointed in the Moto Q as a 'full' web browser. No touch screen. Its a smart phone, not a PDA.

not alot of choices, you only have two options, Treo or the 6700
either one would be a good choice, but i would go with the 6700 since it run windows, plus i like the style how the key pad pulls out
i want a PDA too, but sprint prices are crazy, not fair, not at all

I'm getting a ppc 6700(I'm desperate for a PDA).Otherwise I'd wait till the next newest PDA after Motorola Q.I guess it depends.

It seems that the 6700 crashes ALOT. Tried to use the floor model in the sprint store and the employees were having trouble getting it to run. If that phone was more stable, I wouldnt have gotten the treo.

dang that one crashes alot too, oh well its still nice, i was playing around with the tmobile mda, almost same phone and it crashed on me like twice, i guess i was trying to many things at once, like i had a 3Ghz processor, oh well, sprint needs to lower their prices and offer people better choices, enjoy your PDA

A lot of people find WM phones in general to be buggy. The key is to find a set of programs that work well together and not mess with it anymore. The temptation w/phones like this is to tinker yourself to death. the treo is infinitely better when it comes to one handed use, but other than that any judging would be purely preferential.
I've got the 700P and I am on it constantly, browsing w/opera (and java plugin) i can use myspace and facebook no prob. If thats really all you're going to use it for, then don't bother w/a WM phone. They multitask much better than palm (which doesn't really multitask) but can be frustrating for the casual user. good luck w/your decision, hope I didn't make things more confusing..

Treo 700wx will be out in the next day or two and I agree that Opera works real well with Myspace and Facebook.

Blackberry will never be the best. It is great for stability but the OS is way too restrictive.

I don't get this "Palm OS can't multitask" meme. I am playing an MP3 in pTunes, VersaMail is checking mail in the background, and I'm playing a game of Rally 1000 and everything is working as planned. How much more 'multitasking' do you want it to do?
And as for pricing... buy them on the secondary market. PDA phones are expensive because they do everything.

Palm can't natively multitask, which means if you're in a web browser and switch over to another program, you may lose your session, or dialog box you were in.
The 8700 is probably going to be the best I'd say providing you don't miss the multimedia and don't mind the BB rates. If you do, I'd say look into the Motorola Q, because the 700wx ain't exactly the most dependable device on the planet, and the PPC OS is miserable on the smaller screen.
The Web browser on the 7130 is much more useful than the web browser on the PPC 6700 due to the ease of which one can navigate the content on the page (maybe if the PPC 6700 had a track wheel I'd feel differently.) The cingular 8700's web browser is even better than the 7130e's, and I'd imagine Sprint's is probably going to be just as good. In fact, I found IE Mobile, while fantastic when used with a stylus, to be worse than even Netfront in day-to-day use.
Now, IE mobile can do a lot of things with plug-ins, at least on paper. (While the device was capable of playing embedded WMP files, it required a LOT of goading, and Flash player only seemed to help in loading advertisements on web pages, which made me choose to not install it on my replacement.)
And why is a track wheel a bad thing? Do you seriously mean to tell me you prefer hitting that tiny joystick? From my experience, I'd rather have a trackwheel than touch screen (ideally I'd like both) , but I don't have two hands free to play with my phone half of the time.
Here's my question for the OP: Have you tried Opera Mini on your current phone? That does facebook just fine.
I say make sure you have a warranty on yours (either via L/L or the manufacturer.) I went through 3 PPC 6700's.
