Yes, call them all the time about fake drop calls and you'll find your service dropped.

It's no secret, actually. Yup, totally agree. And if they bust you, guess what? They either block that option for you, or cancel your account all together!

Abuse of the "dropped call" credit will have your account flagged so no legit credits will be given without a supervisors review.

Sprint knows when you drop a call, so its really not worth it to save $10 :)

And yes, if you "lie" about dropping calls, sprint could terminate your service and charge you the ETF.

Like it is ... it's just not worth it. Like they say, you can speed, and if you get busted, was it worth speeding?

Don't call Drop Call Credit for 60 days if you want to talk to CSR.

how does Sprint know if you drop a call or just end it?

I've never heard of Sprint knowing you drop calls, or flagging your account for the dropped call credit.

Could be wrong. but haven't heard or read anything to confirm that.

I can tell you from my experience:

Made some calls while in canada (roaming at 30 cents/minute) Had a dropped call (im paying for it) Called *2 as soon as I hit a native sprint signal and said "dropped call."

When I call in for other issues, the rep has said "yes and you had a dropped call issue while you were in canada" which I never specifically called them about. How did they know the call that had dropped that I called for the credit on was in canada?

Just one experience, but i'd bet that when a call "ends" the network gets "call ended by user" "call ended by reciever" "signal fade" or similar. If you dont have any "signal fade" type dropped calls listed in your call log and call in for 20 dropped calls a month, you get flagged. Just one persons theory as i've never seen anyone post on this subject that would know.

There is a screen in there system that tells you how many failedcalls could that be the same thing

Hmmm...

When I have used the dropped call credit...I don't use them all at once. I don't think you can. I usually do 1 or 2 a day until it's maxed. If Sprint wants to make an issue of it, they can check my call logs. I have dropped calls at least once or twice a day all the time.

There is an area I travel on daily where my call is always dropped. I've called CS and even supposedly had trouble ticketes put in. One rep told me to always get the credit from the area I have them in, another rep told me to track them and use them at end of month, another rep told me to call in and report them each month. I tried reporting them all at once via calling in, and the rep said they had no proof and wouldn 't credit. I finally ended up just using the automated service througout each month and reporting them.

LOL they just look at your call log and if u are making a call to a single number multiple times and your calls are short, we assume a drop call problem...

Simple answer here for everyone. Call and get the credit if you are experiencing dropped calls and don't call to get the credit if you aren't having this problem. If you are experiencing excessive dropped calls you might not just want to get credit for those calls, but call tech. support and see if there is anything they can do to rectify the problem.

I have a few dropped calls a month and I always get credits for them. I know people who max out their $10/month credit every month and they don't notice any changes in service. I've never heard of anyone deactivating the line AND charging you an ETF. The ETF is charged only when YOU cancel service - the onus is on you, not them. They have the right to refuse the service (drop it), sure - but they cannot charge you for that.

I think that they can tell. Because I was talking with Tech Support about bad signal in my area, and the lady looked into the towers near me. She said that there was an abnormal number of dropped calls at the two towers near me. So my guess is that they can tell.

I don't think they make an issue out of it though.

Look at Sprint Know it All's signature. :)

If reps are doing it every month......

I have 10 lines and I report the max dropped calls on an almost monthly basis, however, I actually do experience pretty close to the accurate ammount of dropped calls, although it's mostly data that locks up or becomes the problem. I have a data card and it drops signal a lot, So I even report dropped call credits on that line.
