I am trying to get the Treo 700 with my Sero500 plan. I got the plan back in Feb06 and did not get a new phone at the time. I have had my current phone since 2003 and am hoping to use my $150 new for you upgrade. The sales agent that I had in the store yesterday went through all the sales motions and when it came time for me to pay I could not use the $150 since my plan is < $35. I have been holding out on getting a new phone so that I could get the 700.
Can I sign up for another plan that is >35 and then drop it a week after I get my phone and still keep my Sero500?
Or is there some other way that I can use that $150? :fingers:
Thanks for any suggestions.

Well, Sprint does have this policy where you have like 30 days or something to roll back to your old plan, but I'm not sure if it would work for a SERO plan, since those are highly restricted plans.

You can switch your plan to anything in the first 3 months. Take the higher plan and claim your rebate. Switch your plan after that. What will happen is that you won't be eligible for another rebate.

That would be sucks. I have two lines with sero and one of the phone is over 18 months old. Sprint should treat the sero plans like a $35 plan and allow phone upgrade with rebate. If they don't, there will be lots of unhappy customers out there.

Those customers need to be slapped. If I had a Sero plan, paying retail for a phone would be no sweat.

for real we with SERO even with the lowest plan are saving what like $15 for vision, $5 mobile to mobile, heck least $20 a month from normal plans. 20 times even 12 months is already $240, 2 years its $480 saved, what good is a $150 discount when youre saving all that money already.

Can't you just add crap like road-side service and roaming for a few months to bring your bill up to $36? then take those things off?

I thought of that as well and it is good in theory but Sprint already covered their back there...
You may be eligible for your next discount on select new Sprint PCS Phones when you meet the following criteria:
* Have continuous service on the same phone for at least 12 consecutive months.
* Must be on a $34.99 or higher monthly Sprint PCS Service Plan. ($34.99 is base monthly plan price and does not include fees for add-on features or services).
* Sign a new one- or two-year Sprint PCS Advantage Agreement® (depending on discount amount).
* Remain in good standing with no unpaid past due balances.
A phone activation fee of up to $36 may apply.
According to their webpage it says that there are going to be upgrade program changes in 'late August 2006.' So we will see but I am not holding my breath on them changing the $35 rule.

Change the plan to the $49.99 SERO plan for a month or two, then switch back. Not sure if you can do this after so many months though.
