so i just switched over from cingular to sprint today and got a new sprint fusic phone... i need some new music and stuff, yet do not want to pay if there is a way to get around it... at first i thought maybe i could go to the sprint store, download the stuff on their phone that they have there, then send it over bluetooth... then i realized that bluetooth is limited to certain things such as contacts... so then i got a better idea... the fusic phone has a slot for a little micro memory card... im thinking i could go to the sprint store, put my memory card in their fusic thats on display, download some stuff onto it... then i would be able to insert it into my phone and have gotten some free stuff... let me know what you think about this idea and if it would work or not... thanks!

First of all this this string is in the wrong section. You need to be in multimedia mayham (I know i misspelled it).

downloading music to an in store demo and putting the music on your card wont work. when you download music from the sprint music store, the song gets encoded so it will only play on the phone it was downloaded to. Sure you could do it.... but the music would only play on the in store demo phone.

or you can go to RP and load your phone up with all kinds of stuff. download limewire and fill you mem card with mp3's. just a thought

Well yeah plus the Sprint store demo phones are severly crippled when it comes to extras and features enabled on the phone. There is no way that account is able to download music on the phone.

Amen. Save yourself (or your computer) from the trouble and use newsgroups. Your ISP very likely comes with a certain amount of free news server use. If not, I highly suggest Giganews (http://www.giganews.com/).
As with all things, you get what you pay for. P2P and bittorrents suck, because they're free. Can't really complain about something that doesn't cost money, but at the same time you can't complain about it when it cripples your computer, either, because it's the risk you took. Newsgroups are much safer, faster and in my opinion, far superior. I will gladly pay for something if it offers me a higher quality experience.

i DEFINATLY agree. Newgroups rock... i have tried a few news servers but think giganews is the best. download speeds are consistant. sometimes i will have to spend a while searching to find what i am looking for but other then that, i really like newsgroups.

newzbin.com is a good usenet search place. Costs money, but it works out to something like $6/year. Giganews is pretty much the best you can get, I think. Allows the most connections, longest retention, and unlimited costs me $25/month I think. Before that I was using newshosting.com unlimited for $15/month--pretty good, but less connections and shorter retention.
In the end, pretty much everyone who has ever used torrents and newsgroups will agree newgroups take the cake... Which should be expected for something you pay for; if paying is not an option, by all means get yourself into a good, private torrent (IRC becomes pretty helpful for this). However, nothing beats torrents for bootlegs. No way, no how.

I use http://www.easynews.com/ and I absolutely love them. Unlimited connections and they don't limit bandwidth, they always fill up my connection, every single time. I pay 10 bucks a month for 20 gigs and they do rollover like cingular, so if you don't use all your gigs one month, you get to keep them the following months. I think they expire after 12 but I may be wrong (I currently have around 90 gigs saved up). The best thing about easynews is their web interface allowing you to download binaries from a website without the help of a newsreader. I've never tried giganews but I've always heard they were right up there with the best, if not the best. I'd say it comes down to easynews vs. giga.

Wow that sounds really awesome.
I have been using P2P for years... had just gotten into bittorrent and was somewhat satisfied when download extremely large files.
Of course nowadays I am stuck on dial-up, so not much going on in the download department recently... it's all I can do to load up my e-mail in enough time to be done by dinner.
I'll have to check it out when I get hooked back up with cable or DSL.

I downloaded tonnes of games on my previous phone, but I can't find out how to get some on the Fusic. Althought it may be difficult, could someone point me in the right direction to getting games on my phone? I used to buy them legally, but Sprint now only offers games I'm either disinterested in or not willing to pay for something that "expires."

I felt this way to. When the Fusic first came out, there wasn't a whole lot available for it. All their were, were games that I wasn't very much interested in. Now there is MUCH more available. Telenav is nice and I finally got my poolpro back. Just check your content manager again. They have been updating every week now for the fusic.

Yeah I like Azureus... I've tried a couple others and when I discovered this torrent client it was the best to date so I stuck with it.
I wish I had something other than dial-up though!!!
