Hello All,
I need some help/advice.
I have 2 phones on my account.
I do not have a family shared plan nor do I want one.
Each phone has the following plan---
1000 minutes
nights starting at 7pm
unlimited text messaging
unlimited vision
free pcp to pcs
all for $40 a month each
21% company discount
Now, I would like to port my sisters phone number from T-mobile and add her onto my account and I want her new line to have the exact same plan as my two other phones mentioned above. I have tried a couple of times talking to retention center but they will not do it!! They told me that if I want to add a new line to my account, I have to choose from a plan that Sprint is offering currently. I have been a sprint customer for 7 years now and do not understand why they won't give me the same plan for a new line. Do they not want my business??? I would appreciate any suugestion or advice on this matter. I would also not want to change to a shared miuntes plan.
I apologize if this is a repost.
Thank you

You want to add a 3rd line that "mirrors" the first and second.
Don't call retentions, ask regular customer service. It's not a problem. I have 2 and my friend has 3.
For the number port, I'm not sure how they could do that unless they can issue a temporary number....not sure if Sprint even has those.

Sprint does port numbers from any phone carrier. It's actually a law if I'm not mistaken stating that you can now keep your phone number and take it to any phone carrier of your choosing

That's true, I didn't say Sprint can't port numbers, I just don't know it would work in your situation.
For new activations with a new plan and new account, I get it. For adding to an exisitng account, I don't.

true, arpmd.
and the issue with mirroring your older lines is that if the codes do not exist anymore, some reps may not be able to duplicate it. 7 years is a long time and that plans price has increased over the years. you should try porting the number first then trying for the line, or dont port at all.
remember, old plans are old for a reason......

Just tried calling Sprint customer service, and the person I got wqas not able to do it for me and said that I had to be transfered to the cancellation department..
This is becoming very frustrating!!!!!!!!!

It's not old. It's a retention plan.

true yummi,
What I don't understand is that the plan I have for both of my phones, I just got 2 months.. Would those codes go away so quickly???

Okay,
After trying about 5 times, I gave up!!!! I ported the number and now have a plan on the new line for 59.99 for 1000 minutes starting at 7pm with free roaming and free sprint to sprint and first month free text messaging. They have put a note on my account stating that after 3 months, they will switch me to the retention plan...I verified this note on my account by calling a couple of times...
For some reason, I feel very cheated by Sprint...I have been a loyal customer for 7 years, paying $80-100 every month... I just don't know why they would not have given me the same retention plan??? They keep stressing that this is a new line of service, but All I am doing is adding another line, giving them more money and stealing a customer from their competition...
So I suggest that anyone wanting to do the same thing as I did at the very least make sure that they write down on your account notes that they will change your plan over to the retention plan after 3 months....Hopefully you will have better luck than me...........

****** Update*************
Just called retention again and instead of waiting 3 months to change my plan on my new line to my retention plan I have on my other two lines, They changed the plan on my new line and will be effective starting with my new billing cycle...
Only lesson learned here is that persistance does pay.....For some reason, Sprint always seems to come through, but only after a little persistance on our part.
