Has anyone tried using the Samsung a920 as a modem without a data plan after disabling NAI. If so, where you cought / charged ? Other concerns?

I use my A920 as a modem, but I have a data plan for my phone... Disabling NAI only keeps Sprint from know you are using it as a modem and makes them think you are using it on your phone. You will be charged.
You will be charged.
Chances are slim to none that you will be charged. Many, many people do this here on SU and nobody has been charged yet. Just keep your data transfer down to the minimum and you will be OK.

if I have an unlimited data transfer on my a920, can I use it as a modem without any extra charges besides the $15 a month for powervision?
Legally no, but it can be done.

^ Good answer. You CAN do it. Should you? That's debatable. Just don't get caught. Don't use it to download full-length movies or even really MP3's. It's better to be safe than sorry, and safe IMO is just basic web-browsing.
