Just my personal opinion but this will give treo a run for it's money. I AM ALL OVER THIS ONE! Come on Sprint!

It's a blackberry, of course it will give the Treo a run ;-)
Says T-Mobile for $199 Sept 18th Sprint doesn't really get many BB's so hopefully they start to

What features? It's a mid-level cellphone that can also do email. It's probably very good at the few things that it does, but it's got nothing on the Treo (650, 700p or 700w).

im tired od the GSM network getting all the good phones :( that phone is nice and it look much small and lighter than the treos, and seem like it has many improved features . and everyone know bluetooth on the treos sucks. and the last blackberry (7130e was bluetooth 2.0 so i hope that this one will too

I agree
I'd rather have that phone from Alltell with the full keyboard on it for that price.

Well I am looking at the features that the current BB 7130e lacks and if they had those they would have kept me microSD slot, media player, MM features are a big deal for me. The email would be a bonus and the brower was better. Both phones have their ups and downs but my BB was more stable than my Treo is with certain apps.
A lot of people knock SureType and they have not tried it... I do not think it would be a Treo Killer but I would give it a spin!

SureTye isnt so bad i had it for 3 days ( me and buddy swap phone one weekend since my sanyo had better signal where he was goin) but anyway when u send text an stuff as soon u hit the 1st 2-3 keys the word that ur trying to say comes up. after about 30min of pratice not only will ur spelling impove but after an couple of hour ur texting speed will improve too. so its actually quite good

Treo's cool but having a bb with similiar features as the treo will sell big time. There have so many people coming into my store asking about this phone and get frustrated when I tell them that it's not coming to Sprint yet. So the market is there for the device and plus it's about $200-300 cheaper than the Treo with similiar features

I am trying to stay on topic but yes I typed MUCH faster with SureType....

Similar features? I'm not sure what you're smoking, but their features aren't at all similar. I guess a RAZR has similar features too. LCD screen, can place calls, rings when calls come in, battery, etc. LOL

The new one he posted will have similar features... What will the Treo have over these newer BB devices?

At least there's some hope of something like this coming to Sprint. We might not get Symbian but goodness I'm gonna be all over this like makeup on a $5.00 prostitute.
It's about time that we got something that "Just works."

Memory card slot, 1.3 megapixel camera, bluetooth, internet, "true push email", keyboard, mp3s, etc... Not much of a difference except for the cheaper price. A VERY STABLE OS that doesnt lock up

Wow. Worst comparison ever.
Ability to run thousands of third party apps? 320x320 LCD? Ability to hold and play 10-20 full length DVDs, threaded SMS, touchscreen LCD, ability to run orb and stream media, etc.

Some people dont care about third party apps, touch screens, watching dvds on their phones. For me this new blackberry will be a perfect fit for my needs. Dont get me wrong, i've had all the treos and the 6700 but didnt like them as much as the bb. Not a pissing contest for me.

One thing i havent seen mentioned is the differences between the Data plans for the two, the treos unlimited data plan is a lot cheaper than the blackberrys

and while the BB and Treo have a little fight, the 6700 just sits up on its stool, grining and laughing at the childish fight. hehehe

Suiting your needs is one thing, claiming that they're similar in their features is another. I'm sure that you now realize how ridiculous that sounds.
Do remember that you can get BBC on the 650 and will be able to on the 700p very shortly.

In my opinion they are. neither one of us is incorrect through our own eyes, we just happen to disagree on what the other one sees. it's cool.
this phone is NOT meant to replace the treo IMHO.
This is a phone for business or regular people that are NOT geeks like us. Have you ever tried handing out a pocket pc or even a palm os treo to a regular mainstream user?(best test try it with ur mom lol) they will get so confused and give it back to you with a puzzled face within 30 seconds.
having a touch screen and more sophisticaded options will make things complicated and not appeal to mainstream consumers... NO this BB will NOT exceed the treo if anybody says that come on you are a RIM fanboy/girl. THe processor, screen, camera, browser, etc are much much watered down compared to the treo.
This BB is like the sidekick for grown ups.
I thought it was funny how they said "NEXTTTTTT generation 240x260 screen" DAMN RIM NOW THAT'S NEXT GEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
aLSO suretype might be cool and all but it also does not replace a keyboard! For example i see no use of suretype because i type emails in languages other than english all the time.... Suretype would be USELESS for me... So there you have it... Suretype is NOT full a keyboard replacement and neither the phone in general can compete with a treo in features.

Hi, I know absolutely nothing about BB's. Are there a lot of 3rd party apps for em? I mean treo's and PPC's have tons of apps to drool over. How about the BB's?
