Only thing I know of are sites, which require money, that will do what's basically OTA conversion. That I am aware of, there isn't a program for Macs that converts to QCP. Which makes sense, since Apple has higher standards :p

www.d-d-n.com ($2/month or something like $15/year)
www.freeringers.net (despite its name, it's not free--but only costs around $7 for a lifetime)

I have not used either of these sites. I've never heard feedback on d-d-n.com, but I have heard many wonderful things about freeringers.net.

I've just made 2 qcp ringers recently and this is how you can do it:

1) Get ahold of some music editing software - Quicktime/Audacity, anything that will export to an AIFF format.

2) The most important part: Ensure you have Classic (Mac OS 9) on your Mac because Qualcomm will never make a version for us Mac OS X people. Download the Purevoice Converter at this url: http://www.cdmatech.com/download_library/pdf/pvmac20.hqx and install it.

3) Edit your song to within 30 seconds and save it to an AIFF format.

4) Open that AIFF in the Purevoice program you just installed. In the menu bar go to Options -> PureVoice Full. This will result in a slightly heavier file. EDIT: Any lower compression will result in a loss of some audio and would sound horrible.

5) In the menu bar go to File->Save As. A save box will pop up. Change the filetype from AIFF to Purevoice and this will change the filetype to qcp. Save it and you have a qcp ringer.

6) Upload via whatever method you use and you're done.

for anyone else that might want to know a work around this was found. If you have FTP Access place the pvconv.exe file onto the ftp server. then create your wav file and then upload it to the FTP Server. once uploaded it will allow to you drag and drop and convert to qcp for you to dl / upload to your phone. Hope this helps others.

The only program I used was Itunes and I though that was compatible for macs.

The only other thing I used was the internet and a uploader website

He knows what he's doing. There is a reason he needs to make QCP files... because he's making them for a phone(s) that doesn't support AAC. iTunes can't do that.
