When using the DSLReports speed test on the phone's WAP browser, I'm only getting around 168 kilobits per second on average. And while tehtering, I get the same results. Are there any tips on how to boost the speed to what Sprint "advertises"?

That would be nice to know. I was in a PV area today ( full bars ) and did 6 different tests, 2 at 100, 2 at 400, and 2 at 600. My average speed was 212. :indiff:

I have used an internet booster when using PAM for a laptop and I use one on my PC. It helped alot with the laptop.

I think it was everywhere. when i was in an evdo area at 2am and 6am i tried tests and it sez around 300kbs. so i wouldnt trust the mobile tests too much, but PAM is kinda strange

it all depends on how busy the network is at the time and how many users are on it.

544kbit here with my PPC-6700. I usually get a decent speed with that phone. Most of the time, I'll get 600-800kbit. Sprint rocks down here in South Texas. :)
I've also heard that Ev-DO speed is often affected by processor speed of different phones, so that could be a issue.

i find that the best accurate speed test is by tethering and going to www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
Also you can just do it yourself and download a file using internet explorer and just watch the kb/s. I actually enjoy doing that more because i get to know the peak rates and just plain real world speeds...
