Power Vision Access Questions

Hi,
I have the following from Sprint as a complmentary service

Sprint Power Vision Access Pack - $15

I never had vision or power vision before so I dont know what it can do. I know i can surf unlimited internet and download unlimited things without bandwidth limit or without extra charge. But can I do the following and how can I do it?

1. Can I connect my samsung A920 to a laptop and surf the internet using the phone as a modem. Does it cost extra?

2. How can I watch live TV and what channels can I see and how do I do it ?

3. What music channels can I listen to for free?

4. Is picture mail just shooting pictures and uploading it to a webspace ? Or there is more to it?

5. I also have free SMSs each month so with this can I send international SMS ? Does it cost extra for international SMS or its considered as a standard SMS ?

Yes you can connect...it should cost $40 extra for a PAM plan, but I believe you can disable NAI on the Samsung and if you only tether infrequently, shouldn't cost extra...do a search on this topic...

How can I watch live TV and what channels can I see and how do I do it ? you have the basic evdo plan, so you get the ABC news channel for free, and the Sirius Hits channel for free...for $5 or $10 more you could get more channels with EVDO Plus or Ultimate, although best bang for your buck is $9.99 more for 20 live channels on Sprint TV live, which is just an add-on service you can add or remove at any time...

3. What music channels can I listen to for free? Just Sirius Hits...but if you sign up with Orb (free) you can stream movies and MP3s from your PC at home to your phone for free...

4. Is picture mail just shooting pictures and uploading it to a webspace ? Or there is more to it? you can shoots pics and videos free to other users and upload them to your space on sprint.com

5. I also have free SMSs each month so with this can I send international SMS ? Does it cost extra for international SMS or its considered as a standard SMS ? I believe intl is included...

You can also sent pics/video to an email address too - recipient doesn't need to have a cell phone at all.

Yes you can send international txt and it wont cost extra, however if you go over the limit you have its $.10 per txt and $.15 per international txt unless you have unlimited then you dont have to worry

Ok after doing some research there's something you should be aware of. You cannot upload photos on the $15.00 power vision access plan. If you want to use picture mail you must use the $20.00 plan. I don't know why anyone hasn't mentioned this yet. Personally I do not use the picture mail service as it is easy enough to dump all my photos onto my computer and upload them to flickr from there.

are you sure international SMS is same as local SMS because I sent a few SMSs and now I see this in my account usage history

Now that service costs an extra $40 as was said above. Until "Power Vision" came along, it was free! I had it for two years with my SCP-8100. Now it costs extra . . . actually quite a bit, and I intend to cancel it this week.

BTW - on your bill it appears as "Blackberry." IOW, that is what Sprint calls that addition even if it is asigned to a regular PCS Vision phone.

i thought it was cause thats what somebody said here in the forum and somebody else confirmed it by saying they called sprint and they said the same thing?

I've been charged for the past... over a year, so maybe you're lucky and I'm not; I have the $180+ bills to prove it. However, I believe effective in September, everyone will be charged for them whether you're on unlimited SMS or not. I'm not positive on this, as I've not even read this supposed insert that comes with our bills, and I haven't spent much time in this particular forum lately.
