View Full Version : Logging into Vision for the first time?

I could be a moron, but I just can't figure this out. Have searched this forum without finding anyone else having the same problem (ok, I'm definitely a moron), and my manual is misleading. It states that my Power Vision account will automagically just be set up on my phone when I get it (not true in my case), or, failing that, if I update my Power Vision username and password in sprint.com, that info will automagially make its way to my phone (also not true). It just seems my phone perhaps did not come configured in the way the manual assumes it comes to new users.

I ordered an LG fusic through telesales and received the phone today. I was able to phone customer support earlier this evening at *2 and get the phone itself activated. I have logged into my PCS account at sprint.com, and have gone in and set up my Power Vision username and password.

I'm still unable to connect to the web. When I try I get this message: "Error 67 Registration Failure. Your Power Vision username and/or password may be inorrect. Please try again..." followed by a warning about trying too often to connect.

On my phone, in menu/settings/phone info/version, my username says ' Signed Out'. I don't see a way to change this to my actual username, nor do I see a way to set my password on the phone to match what I set on sprint.com. I have gone into menu/Settings/Power Vision and selected 'yes' to 'Enable Power Vision?', and I get the same message I posted above.

So, can someone educate the moron and tell me what I need to do? Customer service is closed and I'm dying to play with the new features on the phone. Is it supposed to be this nonintuitive?

I see with some more searching that, in fact, PowerVision activation is a common problem, and it looks like a call to customer service on a 'land line' is necessary. How unfortunate for me that this phone is my only phone (telecommuter LOL) and Sprint offers no way to obtain this sort of support via email or chat, it has to be by phone. That may present problems as it becomes more common for people to dump their land lines in favor of cell service, like I have.

no i would wait some more...the system could still be slow...also have you updated your vision profile?...if not you should do that...that actually could be the reason its not working yet...i cant promise it will work after you update your profile but it cant hurt to do it though...

I tried that last night without success, so I am trying it again now... there were no error messages when it completed, and it did pick up my correct username in Phone info/Version this time, so that's a good sign.

But trying to connect via PowerVision still fails.

Thanks for helping, by the way.

PowerVision was still unable to connect last night; my phone kept losing my username (in settings/phone info/versions), and any connection attempt returned an error 67.

I called *2 from my old, deactivated cellphone, and the rep was able to get my new phone on the web after about 20 minutes. She manually reset my password in the applicable backend systems and had me manually set the password in my phone using a couple of those secret ##... codes. So I have been successfully online, even loaded the opera minibrowser, which is fantastic, especially compared to the icky built-in browser.

I have been disappointed with the PowerVision service stability. A lot of random timeouts interspersed with periods of quite fast speeds, and today any connection attempt times out. Also, google mail is broken via the phone even when I am able to get online, not sure why, but I read that it's a common problem.

If I wasn't getting my service for free (corporate employee), I'd actually be pretty pissed off, but as it is any connectivity is a bonus. I wouldn't pay for this service at this time, though.
