View Full Version : Are you guys seriously hung up on green keys?

What's up with that? Based on comments I see about the new Sanyos, why is the backlight color for the keys THAT important that it would preclude you from getting a specific model? Are you serious?

its just and old outdated light to use on keys or anything. the blues and other colors show up much better at nigth and look better. most of us out here like our phones to be custom or new. we use them as much if not more then the cars we drive and hte homes we live in. I know I Wouldnt want a car everyone else has or the same car witht eh same lighs and stuff for ever or even a house so thats why we do what we do.

The green keys are just symbolic of the overall phone- The apparent next step in Sanyo's inability to be innovative. I dont say that with any joy, as I would love to have them release something compelling and not just a minor refreshing of one of their other models.

I see so much better with the blue than the green. THe blue are nicer looking, fresher and just I think give it an extra lil boost in appearance. I really can not see the green back lit pads when i'm in the club or what not. They are sooooo dim

Funny thread! The green keys are the first thing I noticed on my 8200 in the store and almost didn't buy the phone because of it. They're dim and faded looking . I really wanted blue. When you are paying good $$ for a gadget you want the latest features. All other phone brands use blue LEDs because that's what's hot and people want.
Red would be cool too.
Sanyo, are you listening??

White LEDs are right above blue IMO! That's the one thing I liked about the (appearance) of my old Nokia.
Blue is perfect for any other situation though. Green is just... ugly to me, but hey, it DOES work however.

I would love a phone with a red lighted keypad! Just as I love cars with red lighted dashboards! Blue and white are nice, but I would have to agree and say that I don't care much for the older green lights on certain phones.
BTW, what color are the lights on the katana? The only one I've held so far was a dummy display model.

I prefer blue or white keypad backlighting but if I like a phone that has green I will still buy it. I'm surprised that people would not buy a phone no matter what if it had green LED's but then again there are some picky people on this site. Do blue or white LED's drain more power then green?
blue is best IMO

Doesnt the pink Katana have pink leds...My GF said she would drop the A960 For the Katana if the pink one's keys lit up pink..I said i was going to check but the store has been on back order for the longest...I think VZW pink RAZR is the only pink phone that has its leds the same color as the phone. Sprint with all its different color phones coming need to have Leds coordinate with the color of the phone (Blue phone Blue led's) except for black. have black phones led's be white...
I like white leds the best. On My GF A960 the keypad is sooo hott with those white leds in a dark club i could dial the phone myself...
I with the majority i hate green

Just got a pair of SCP-3100s. Mine don't have green keys - they are closer to yellow - but more accurately, they are chartreuse. I couldn't care less what color they are - as long as I can seem, that's all I care about.
Now, my old 8100 had green numerals in unlighted keys. They were not easy to see. The 3100 is an improvement.

Do blue or white LED's drain more power then green?
I thought there might be a reason why Sanyo uses the green led's
From what I recall, when most phones had green keys and a few were replacing them, some colors were a more significant drain on the battery. Green wasnt one of these.I would rather have a longer lasting battery and green led's then have a battery not last as long with a different color led then green.

The more I look, the more my 3100 keys illuminate yellow - and it matches the Sprint logo screen. Esthetically nice.
