Hi All. I just purchased 2 Sprint Sanyo VI-2300 phones for me and the G/F. I am wondering how I upload some ringtones I found on the net. I am a total newbie to hacking or uploading anything to my phone. I have never even hooked my phone upto a computer before.

I have some questions. I did some searching on this site and I know that the VI-2300 needs ring tones in the QPC format But I can't seem to find specific answers for what I need. I don't have much time to search through the threads as I am working 18 hours a day.

#1 What kind of cable do I need to interface with my phone to computer? I found no cables for this at Sprint.com or my local sprint store.

#2 What programming will I need to interface with my phone? I did some searching and I found cables with software but all have a warning that some of the software will not work with all phones but gave no details. How do I make sure I get software that will work with my phone? Especially in the ringtone uploading section.

#3 Is there any software out there that will convert MP3 to QPC format for my phone? The mp3 ringtones I have are very high quality in sounds but are very small in size. I want to keep the quality and keep the size down as I have no idea how much data my phones will store.

#4 WIll my phone from sprint be capable of having ringtones uploaded to it in the first place fairly easily via interfacing with computer? I don'thave internet turned on for it and I have no intention of doing so either.

I guess thats all I have for now. Thanks for any replies :wavey:

Try radio shack for a cable. Also Futuredial on the web. They also have a software package called Futuredial Suite that should allow you to manage contafcts and upload files, etc. As to ringers, there is a program that will convert file to qcp format - I do not know the name off the top of my head but do a search on this board and you will ffnd it.
