To those that have the Katana, does using the speakerphone suck with half-duplex? My 8200, I believe, has half-duplex and I hate the speakerphone. Thanks.

I can tell you people have said I am much clearer on this one than I was on my RL-4920. I haven't used it too much so far, but it seems a lot better to me. Except when you place the speaker directly on a soft surface, then you can't hear anything.

Anyone else use the speakerphone much and have an opinion? Also, does it work with the phone open and closed and can you switch it on and off in mid conversation? Thanks.

I guess I spoke a little soon, I used it in the car today and it pretty much sucked. When I closed it with the speaker on, the phone did not disconnect. It stayed on and I sounded a little more muffled.
There is a [speaker] button that you can use to switch it on and off as you please.

half-duplex ALWAYS sucks.
no one can argue that, and I don't understand why Sanyo even bothers... all it's EVER been good for, since the 4700, is for waiting on hold... (FYI, the speakerphone was louder and clearly back in those days, and it still sucked)
