View Full Version : Something wrong with my Katana? Or are ringtones supposed to sound this bad?

Wow. I was expecting something a little better than my 8200 so I downloaded a couple of song-ringtones. They sound absolutely TERRIBLE. Staticky and garbled.
And I pay 2 bucks for a screen saver that takes up 3/4 or 1/2 of the screen?!?!?! Sprint can't provide screen savers specifically for large-screen phones?
Very angry right now. Thinking of trading the Katana in for the MM-A800 or the Phone Fusic by LG, but Radio Shack doesn't have either, so I guess I'd have to get a full refund and then buy online??

You can only use qcp ringers for the Katana and that was one of the reasons I took mine back. The 800 has the best camera out of all the Sprint camera phones. The Fusic is a pretty good phone with a FM transmitter and great battery life. If you can wait the 8400 should be coming out within 1 to 2 months.

Has anyone tried using mp4 audio ringers? I used those on my 7400 and 8300 and they worked beautifully. I would have a hard time believing sanyo would take a step back and not let the katana use the same formats..

the katana is not a mm phone and does not support mp4 or m4a if you will...uploading them as mp4 makes it a video according to the 7400/8300 must rename mp4 to m4a for actual ringers.

My bad you are correct, I didnt mean mp4 I meant m4a. Thanks for the correction. So the Katana is what sprint would classify as a PM phone. To me this phone is pretty much a copy of the LG325 in a different form factor. Correct me if I am wrong on this part. I checked it out in the store and I really liked the phone, no real bad feelings towards it.
