Currently have a Palm 650 and came across this link wich will allow you to check the speed of the Sprint Network.

Would appreciate if other PDA owners could post their results. Specifically any PDA phone running under the new EV-DO network.
Enjoy it

actually, you don't really need us to post. Under the "results" section (or something similiar) you can see everyone's results for the day, including what device, browser, speed and network they are on. See here... (http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed?results=1)

Sprint has the fastest average for networks, with VZW running a close second.
I'm in the Atlanta area and I got 337 as my speed rate. I'm on my 6700 using PIE.

Would also be interested in non EV-DO network devices such as Treo 600 and other Treo 650.

The fastest I have seem my Treo 650 is 75kbs. I personally think this is not that great.
Would be interested in seeing other Treo 600, 650, 700W and, other non EV-DO devices just to compare. Is Windows faster than Palm?

I'm from baltimore and I guess we're pretty lucky around these parts. I average 500-600 kbps, and I've seen it as high at 800 (and as low as 100) depending on where I am and what time it is.
EDIT: This is on my PPC-6700.

Wow...those are slow. I have a 6700 and in PIE I get, on average, about 900kb-1.3mbps.

My 650 has not gotten better than 64 in South Florida. That notwithstanding, I can seem to stream 64bit MP3 channels on Ptunes most of the time which is fine. If this topic becomes a critical issue for me, I will look to upgrade my phone but the considerations would be more difficult. The new phone would have to be compatible with my car's BT, and I would really like it to interop with my company's network services (which Palm effectively crippled in the 650 with versamail 3.x). And no, I haven't considered using a custom ROM.

Palm 700p, as stated elsewhere seems to have limitations on how it can render or handle data coming in over EvDO.... the windows mobile based phones can handle it much better.

Here in S.F., I normally get 380-500 kbit on two bars, but can hit 1.1-1.35 Mbit on 4 bars at night (since I work Grave shift, that's a big bennie for streaming at work!!!! Especially since I seem to work directly under a cel tower...)
