Has anyone noticed at night or in a very dark room that the front screen on the katana is still lit when not in use? I noticed that at night there is a very dim light that still comes from the sub lcd screen on the front.

I did, I noticed the first night i had it, in fact if you look at it so you can see inside but with it closed from the side the innerscreen is lit dimly too! I thought I wasn't shutting it all the way.

same thing here. I kept trying to close it and then realized it is actually closed. it can light up a dark room even though it is dim

I noticed that the other night. I opened and then closed it and it seemed to go away. Haven't noticed it since then.

I'm pretty sure it only stays lit up in the dark when your phone is plugged into the charger. I charge my phone every night and that is the only time that the sub lcd dimly stays on.

If you turn off "Sleep Mode" for the "Sub LCD", the Sub LCD screen will stay dimly lit all the time when closed[1].

Settings are in "Settings -> Display -> Others -> Sleep Mode -> Sub LCD -> Off".

Even though it warns "High Power Consumption", I have mine set like this because I like to have the time showing on the Sub LCD at all times. It doesn't seem to have the "dark" time mode my other Sanyos have had.

I don't notice any battery drain at all when set this way, at worst it probably kills a day from the 7-day standby time.

[1] Sub LCD stays lit without AC adapter being connected.
