View Full Version : Renewing SERO

How does one go about renewing their SERO plan if they just signed on w/Sprint in Jan '06? I love the service and phone and I especially love the price because they have been giving me a large service credit since day 1 and my bill is literally single digit $. As you can imagine, I'd like to lock that in, but I'm afraid just calling attention to my account might ruin a good thing.

Any suggestions?

TIA.

I'd leave it like it is. You start messing around too much and you screw up a good thing.

That's kinda what I'm leaning toward, Matt. I guess I'll try my luck in Jan' 08.

You never have to worry about renewing your SERO plan. The plan itself is like any other in that you can keep it forever if you choose. However, the service credits you are getting will most likely expire at the end of your contract. These can probably be renewed at that time in consideration for a new two year contract.

by cancelling with ETF, waiting it out 3 months and signing back up with SERO, if it is available then that is.

SERO still seems to be going. They have updated the page at www.sprint.com/sero

Now it lists Power Vision Data Only plans for $49.99.

But in the fine print, it still shows 6/30/06 as the offer expiration date.

The night I signed up w/SERO I did it through Sprint (not inphonics). The rep was a lady...think her name was Shannon and she was very nice and knowledgable. She told me my phone would be b/o and I said, "Is there anything you can do to compensate me for the trouble?" She said "How about a $xx.xx service credit?" "That would be nice", I said. It's been on my bill ever since! I even got a $33.xx check in the mail and to this day I don't know what it was for! I assume their billing dept. knows what they're doing.

That along with the other perks I p/u along the way have gotten my bill to where it is (barely a bill!!!)

My August bill came a couple days ago. The party's over! My bill is now that of a normal SERO bill...$27.28 incl'g taxes, etc. Out of curiosity I emailed ecare. Here's the exchange:

Me: On my current invoice my regular $25 service credit has been
removed. Could you please research this and advise as to why this was
done?

Thanks

Sprint: Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel. I will be happy
to assist you regarding $25.00 service credit.

Let me inform you that the $25.00 PCS service credit is provision on the
account as one-time. As an exception for you, it was added for 9
months. You have received $25.00 credit from December, 2005 to July,
2006 invoice.

Due to this reason, it automatically gets removed on August 04, 2006
from the account and August 05, 2006 invoice has not received this
credit.

If there is anything I can assist you with, please feel free to write to
us. We are here for you. Thank you for emailing us.

While the gist of the reply is accurate, I only started with Sprint on Jan. 16th this year so I didn't have a December invoice at all. Secondly, notice there is no explanation at all for what the $25 was provisioned for??? Also, isn't Dec-July 8 months, not 9? As I said in the original post, the only explanation I have was the csr gave me a $25 service credit the night I signed on w/Sprint because of the inconvenience of backordering my phone a couple of days. That $25 stayed w/me until this month.

I'm going to respond to Sprint's reply. I'm sure there's no way I'll get the $25 service credit reinstated, but who knows? I'll post my results.

Crowderd,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but based on what I see in your sig if you had a $25 credit on your account per month Sprint would actually owe you $3 a month before taxes. If I were you I would reply to the e-mail E-care sent you. I'd thank them for the error in your favor that has had you saving so much money since you had your service.
