Retention gave me a new Samsung Ace yesterday. I asked if I would have to pay any extra fees or anything to get the scores and stuff. The retention rep said no, that it is included with the phone. My plan is a basic plan wiht no internet. I also read after the fact that mobile ESPN isn't even Sprint. Could someone let me know if I should call Sprint back to get a phone that actually work? Thanks-

Mobile ESPN is a sub company under Sprint. Sprint does not sell it, and Sprint does not sell the Samsung Ace. They sell the Samsung a900, which will charge you to check scores and stuff unless you have a Vision plan. If you have a Vision plan, internet access is free. if you want a Mobile ESPN phone, then I suggest you return the Sprint phone and contact Mobile ESPN.

The phone the rep said she was sending was a Samsung Ace. She gave me an order number and everything

You sure you called Sprint and not ESPN Mobile?

Sprint. Used the 800 number and talked to a customer sevice person, who transfered me to retention. I called Sprint back today to see if they are sending me a phone that wont work. She verified that it would work and that I will be able to check scores and things like that for no charge. I just can't use the internet.

I hope it works like they said. I thought it would be pretty cool to check scores. I didn't need the video, which they said would be charged because of using the internet. I assume Sprint will return the phone if I can't get the scores. I was surprised, because she would have gave me any phone for free. Only because the SPrint store I went to wouldn't give me a rebate to buy a new phone.

Just to folloe up. Sprint sent the Samsung A900 to me. I called Sprint and told them it wasn't the phone they said they were going to send me. I guess there now sending me the new Sanyo thin phone. She also is charging me $15 for Vision and giving me a $10 credit each month. She also said she is giving me a 15% discount on re-acuring charges. I assume that is 15% off my total bill. I look at my current bill and I'm suppose to be getting a $5 credit for 7PM nights and I'm only get $1.75 for some reason.

Yeah, I thought something was wrong.

If you really want to get the full effect of internet access, which you're paying for anyway, please don't get the Sanyo phone. It utilizes much slower internet access than the Samsung a900 does.

The lady on the phone said that I couldn't get vision with the A900 because it did only video. I also noticed on my internet bill that I have a $298 credit. There sending me something to send back my phone. I assume that has to do with that, but I never paid for the first phone.

Okay, I'm really not sure who is telling you all this, but they're completely wrong. You need to talk to their supervisor and tell them to have the person trained again.

Any idea why there would be a $298 credit.

They credit the account prior to the charge for the phone is added to the acct. If done correctly, they offset to make the phone free.

I repeat, if done correctly.
