Review: Plantronics Explorer 320 Headset (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=Plantronics+Explorer+320+BT&btnG=Search+Froogle)
Looks: At first sight I found the headset to be somewhat attractive. Its small lightweight design and visually pleasing looks made it to be my first choice.
Feel: When you first put it on, it takes some time to get used to. Its tight ear cramping feel could be a quick discomfort to some. The inner ear piece was a poor design for multiple reasons. If you have it placed wrong it can be very uncomfortable. It’s smaller than a lot of headsets as far as width goes, but makes up for its size with length. Once you figure out how to place it correctly on your ear it only gets better.
Microphone: The microphone is very sensitive. If you are driving and you have a loud(er) car, you do not want to be talking through this headset. I have gotten many complaints about the background noise when I was talking on it.
Speaker: Not very loud if you are in a noisy space. This could be due to the design of the earpiece. It looks like it was originally designed to be an in-ear design, but then they gave up and left it where it was.
Reception: This is the biggest downfall of this headset. Any distance up to 10 feet (without any obstructions) it works fine. If you put something between the headset and your phone, don’t expect it to work, much less be clear. Phone in your pocket (either side of your body) means a bad connection.
Overall, I’m glad that I picked this headset up, because know I will know when I get a good one. I was the victim of some price gouging at a Sprint store when they sold it to me for 60$ but it’s alright. I know I will be spending twice that on my next headset. The trick is I just have to find a good one first.
