I recently downloaded Skype to my phone to make outgoing calls, and it works great, kinda. I notice that the sound come out of the speaker phone area, and not out of the ear piece. Is there a trick or option to fix this?

It's a general Skype issue with some WM devices. They know about it and I suggest heading over to their forum.

The last update was in Feb, so hopefully a new version will be forthcoming.

Until then you can use a wired headset (which sounds real good) or use a BT headset and the audio gateway trick.

or you can just flip the phone around and use it the other way.
just turn the speakerhone down so it doesnt blast your ear.
i actually use the pone like this for regular phone calls when it is to loud to hear with the regular earpiece.

omg, that is a simple yet brillant solution!

I might just have to try that.

I used the high speed. Works just great.

Ahhh..it just occured to me why your phone is freezing. You mean to say that your Start Menu/Programs is freezing when you try to launch?

If so do this: Download RunSkype.zip.

Place the RunSkype.exe file in the same folder where Skype is installed on your device, then create a shortcut for RunSkype.exe in your \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder, replacing your old shortcut for Skype. The next time you soft reset, you'll appreciate how fast the icon shows up.

Download RunSkype.zip (http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/538747-post6.html)

If that's not the issue, are you installing to MainMem or storage card? Because it's kinda not a good idea on the storage card. The good news is you can shrink down Skype.exe using UPX compression so that it's only about 1.5mb instead of something like 6mb.

well i was trying to install it on my storage card.. and I got plenty of room on it still..

I'll try the RunSkype thing... but Im gonna have to do this all from my computer right?.. cause if i try to do anything wuth the Skype folder on my phone then it freezes..

ill give it a try.. thanx man

Okay.. I tried doing everything you said, I tried placing the shortcut to the RunSkype in the programs folder, but it scrolls down to the bottom of the list, where the old Skype shortcut is, then the PHONE freezes.. I can't press anything, so I have to soft reset.

if i do anything on the phone that deals with the skype, then it freezes..

I tried getting to it a couple different ways, and realized that I couldn't access those folders from my computer, so I don't know what to do..

You can access EVERY folder from your computer.

Just make sure under your Desktop Exlporer, you go to Tools --> View --> Show hidden files or folders.

There's no reason why you should be able to drop in that icon to the Skype directory, copy as shortcut to your \windows\Start Menu\Programs.

I have to admit I never had this many issues getting into my Skype folder! I think using SmallMenu helps avoid these issues as well...

Skype is not going to "fix" it as they want it to work that way.

I use either my corded headset or my BT headset (using the audio gateway (http://www.trianglepowers.com/ppc6700/ViewApp.aspx?ID=6) ). Both work just great.

I just downloaded the audio gateway for my ppc but now it says that it requires a newer version of the compact framework. I tried downloading 2.0 from my phone but there isny enough memory (although I dont have anything else on the phone)...anyone know how to get around this?

You probably tried to download the 36mb file. Only the compact framework for PPC is need which is like 2mb.
