I've recently gotten my plans changed around and have really nice retentions plans for myself and my two teens (husband has sprint through work).
We have 3 1000 a/t $40 plans with free/offsetting credited:
FIMF, M2M, Roaming, N/W @7 and 500 SMS
Free Vision on PV phones (we were in that "limbo" period when we were offered free PV but no codes existed. I have a 6700 so no worries. Kids have A920s so they stay off TV and no extra charges)
with discounts the lines net out about $32 each after taxes so this is a great family deal for under $100
My mom is going to be 80 this year -- she rocks -- and has a Cingular 500 minute "rollover" plan that costs her $59 base cost with basically no perks of any kind. I tried to negotiate her a nice new phone and a better rate at the Cingular store and the girl was so not interested. So I figured I'd move her "into the light" with Sprint! She does NOT need vision, power or otherwise, or texting. She just needs a decent phone and enough minutes to chat away when she's here with us or on the road.
Questions:
1. Should I try to get her phone/plan under my family umbrella and just pay it through my bill or set her up independently? Is the $40/1000 plan the best for her?
2. I have my old Sanyo 5400 phone that works fine. Should we activate that for her or get her a new phone? She doesn't need a PV phone or anything tricked out. Probably just speakerphone.
3. While I"m on the phone (my plans are all through retentions so I assume that's who I'll be speaking with) should I try to "iron out" the vision issue to get PV codes? We're only like 3 months into our new cycle so I don't mind if they have to reup the three lines to do it.
TIA for any advice! :wavey:
