When I bought my current phone, the upgrade program was still $150 off after 18 months. Sprint since changed to $75 after 12 or $150 after 24. I've had the phone for 19 months. I was hoping someone would understand the dilemma and be accomodating (give me the $150 rebate now), but no dice. Anyone else had a similar situation and good luck? Basically, my phone isn't going to last 5 more months and I don't want to submit an insurance claim. I was hoping as a customer of 5 years with two lines of service on my plan they would be more willing to help. Even talked about switching services to get the deal I wanted and it didn't phase them.

customer solutions, a manager, a sales rep, but no retentions even after i mentioned moving to another carrier. also forgot to add my contract is up at the end of sept, and told them i wouldn't re-up and it still didn't phase them.

Hmmm.....well, considering you are still in contract, they probably didn't care since the ETF would apply if you cancelled.

I would call retentions directly. Tell them about the upgrade program changing and see if they can help.

Was thinking of another way....but it would mean getting a new number and stuff which would probably not be something you want to do...

i understand i am still under contract for 3 months, but at $120/month for five years (roughly $7,000) i had hoped that $75 and three months wouldn't get in the way of me getting a new phone a little cheaper.

To get retentions, you have to say............ Well, then I guess i better talk to cancelations. I'd rather stay with sprint but if no one wants to help me i'll be moving to _________ carrier.

The magic words are "im going to cancel my service." As you didnt say when, they have no idea your plans and will transfer you to cancelations.

turns out e-care was the way to go. they told me to buy it at a sprint store where i would get the $75 off instantly that i already qualify for. after activating the phone, they said to write them back and they'd credit my account the other $75. anyone ever heard of it being done this way? thanks for all of your advice.
