Does anybody know if it is possible to assign specific ringers to different contacts on Pocket PC 2003 or Windows Mobile 5?

yes you can assign different ringers for different people

on the 6700 that is. put the 30 sec clips into a folder or on the main memory. then go on your phone and go into file explorer and tap and hold the file and then select set as a ringtone.

Have you thought about looking under your individual Contact's settings?

e.g. "Joe Schmo" --> edit

now, scroll down and look for the wild-n-crazy thing called, wait for it...."Ring Tone".

Crazy, right? :lol:

now, you actually pick a specific "Ring tone" for that person.

Also, make sure your ringer is in \windows or \windows\ringers



(sorry for the sarcasm, but this question has been asked like 6 kajilliion times here and it's fairly basic)

Got it...thanks. I believe I looked in every other possible place and there it was all along. I do have to admit I feel a little bit stupid now.

that I can't help you with as I've never used that device or 2003 phone edition...

Well, after numerous hours of playing around, I found it can be done. The trick is, it has to be established within a speed dial setting. This appears to be Pocket PC 2003 in general.
