I recently got a Sprint aircard thinking I could just slide it into my iBook after perhaps 1st initializing it on a pc laptop as suggested in some posts before realizing it needed a pcmcia slot, which my iBook doesn't have. Adapters for pcmcia to usb or firewire slots seem rarer than hen's teeth (many in-store techs swear they don't exist, on-line sources seem to be on other continents, etc.), and/or are not supported. Has anyone here come up with a working solution? MANY thanks for any help!!!!!

You could always just abandon the aircard and use your phone as a modem. I guess you can do that with a mac.

This product may work:

The only problem is it's not Mac-supported. So, you can spend $250 or so on something which may or may not work. I'm sure there would be a lot of Mac users who would be curious as to the results.

In any case, it's probably a better idea to return the card or sell it on eBay and tether your iBook to your phone, instead.

Good luck!
