i just did this with no problems so i figured id let everyone know how in case you were wanting a 7130, but scared of the data charges.

i got my 7130 in the mail and took it to the sprint store. i told them i JUST wanted an esn swap. i said i only wanted to use the phone's PDA features but none of the e-mail/internet extras. it went through fine.

*do NOT try to do this through *2 customer care. no one knows sh-t about blackberries and they will transfer you to technical where they will tell you that you have no choice but to add the $40 data plan.

this morning i called customer care and told them nothing but my phone number and password and that i wanted the $15 power vision extra tacked on to my plan. be sure to tell them nothing else but this.

i figured id post this because soon, sprint will catch on and EVERYONE will be told that all blackberries NEED the data plan. this is a lie. it says "POWER VISION NETWORK" in bold on the phone box for a reason.

if anyone has any questions on the phone or anything else i went through in the last 24 hours activating this phone, feel free to PM or just reply here.

So what are the drawbacks of not having the BB plan. I am assuming you can not use PAM and etc. Is that as well as the BES?
