If you do no have a vision plan you will be charged a per kb rate. Also, If you have wifi at you house, simply place you ppc off and put the wifi on, and you should be good to go.

If you have a broadband network at home or work and its encripted with a password, you need to put it in. in order for it to work.

You should not be charged for EVDO usage while using Wi-Fi at home or work. As long as you have wi-fi access set up already at those places, it shouldn't cost you anything extra (you paid for that Wi-Fi equipment along with regular internet access already after all!).
Each minute spent on the internet via Wi-Fi is a minute NOT spent on Sprint's EVDO network- the two are completely separate. I don't use a 6700, but I'm also assuming you can't be on Wi-Fi and EVDO at the same time, which is what I believe S11208 has stated already.

Wifi = wireless network (home, work, school, etc.)
EVDO = sprints network = pay
