Hey all. I've had such hell with getting my A920 to connect in EVDO mode. For those unfamiliar with the A920, there are two seperate icons which appear to tell you which mode the phone is in. There are 3 orange arrows when in EVDO mode, and the standard single arrow when in standard 1xRTT mode. When I access Vision on the phone, you can see the EVDO activity icon appear for about 2 seconds, disappear, and then reappear. It does this about 3 times before "giving-up" and then the standard single arrows appear showing it "falling back" to the 1xRTT mode.
On top of that, when connecting #777 on my laptop (I have phone as modem), it does the same thing, only connects in 1xRTT mode (I can verify this because download speeds are definently NOT EVDO speeds).
I have called Sprint about 3 times, and they are of NO use. One told me that the status icon doesn't always represent EVDO mode, blah blah. Another told me that there are currently issues with EVDO in your (Kansas City) area and insisted that was the problem.
I have tried ##786# and did a factory reset and manually reentered my Vision details with a ##DATA#. Still, will ONLY connect in 1xRTT mode, no EVDO.
I've tried accessing the debug menu (Menu > Settings > Display > 0 > 040793) and setting to EVDO only to no avail.
I've tried changing my Primary and Secondary Home Agent IP addresses to ones shown at this (http://www.evdoforums.com/about2001.html) site, no luck.
When in standby mode, the icon representing "Power Vision Available" is shown.
Something else out of ordinary is, when I attempt to update my vision profile, I'm givin error 1012. I'm convinced this has something to do with the inability to go in EVDO mode.
I have tried EVERYTHING, and this phone refuses to go into EVDO mode.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
Thanks a lot,
- Andrew
