Authorization Failure connecting for EMAIL

With the TREO 700, I set-up the versa mail account with 'other' and to use the POP account. I put in the incoming and outgoing server... and the port I believe is #25.

In EMAIL, when I hit 'get' new email, it acts like it wants to connect, then I get an error either with authorization failure — OR, that the server can't be found on my account.

Using ADELPHIA cable modem for service if that's helpful.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong trying to connect to the internet?

Oh, and there's no password verification or SSL, that needs checked.
