View Full Version : Hi..

I am getting text messages confirming that I received IM's from people. I have a PM225 V12 phone... I'm using Sprint Vision's AOL IM on it... i have never had this problem till yesterday. It's like an alert or something. I have gone through sprint customer service, AOL customer service, AOL live chat tech service (which are a bunch of lying robots. They have the audacity to say i'm speaking to a live rep..) and i'm really frustrated.

Basically when someone sends me a message through sprint's AIM, my phone sends me a text (user: UNKNOWN) then it spews out a link that sends me to sprint vision's AIM (provided i go to that link) otherwise i press dismiss or exit, and then respond. It is really annoying, and it interrupts me typing. I can't even turn the alert off without turning my damn ringer off.

once again this has never happened to me before yesterday. My first month of vision and texting is over pretty soon.. if i were going to rebuy these, i would not, especially if i had to pay a charge everytime someone sent me an AIM message.

If anyone could help, empathize, sympathize, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Max

The messages are displayed as a text message like this:

Fr: UNKNOWN
-----------------------------
AIM: New IM from (Person's AIM s/n here). http://wim2.aol.com/?c=gc=&b=(Person's AIM s/n here)&service=Sprint3G&TID=1#new

They're literally text messages.. they're in my inbox.. my inbox fills up in a matter of hours with "UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN" and it just sucks. they interrupt my typing, they will either cost me 10 cents each IM or use up the alotted amount of messages I have for the amount of money I spent (5 dollars for 100 messages, etc...). this is ridiculous. I have spoken to people from the phillipines, oklahoma, texas...i've spoken to people from sprint, and AOL. I have enabled and then disabled IM forwarding. I can't stand this.

Furthermore when I receive these messages my phone vibrates. the only way to turn this alert off is to set my ringer to silence. If i go into menu>settings>sounds>alerts>message alerts i can't even do it from there (like one of the Sprint techs on the fone said I could do)

I'm sorry that I'm impatient but this is literally driving me nuts..
