View Full Version : Power Vision on the 700p

I just ordered my 700p today and it should arrive on Wednesday. I am coming from a Toshiba VM4050 to a 700p. I have been with Sprint for 7 years now and on my current plan have regular vision.

I understand that in order to get Sprint TV and the EVDO on my 700p I will need to upgrade to one of the Power Vision plans. This evening, while ordering the 700p with the retention person, she outlined the 3 different PV plans available, and noted that she could offer me a monthly $5 credit towards whichever PV plan I chose. I told her that I'd call back on Wednesday when I receive the 700p to add the PV plan to my plan.

My question then is: Is there some type of retention deal for PV that I can get, that would best the $5 credit? [I'm thinking about possibly going for the $25 PV plan by the way]. Just wanted to make sure that there aren't any special retention deals anyone had received regarding this.

Thanks!

Actually Retention can, and have very often, offered better deals. Give it another try.

Thanks for the note. In asking the question, I was trying to gauge what those 'better deals' are. If you can point me in the right direction here on SU, let me know.

Thanks!

there is a $10 ev-do plan that retention has offerred many users , especially those coming off the grandfathered vision packages, and some were lucky enough to get a $5 credit towards the 10 ev-do package, the package is equal to the $20 pv plan

I got the $10 EVDO retention offer offset by a $5 credit for a net cost of $5...this includes pics and video, and one TV channel and one radio channel, but does not include any other TV or radio stations...I don't know of any retention EVDO deals that do offer premium content in this price range...if you maybe got a $15 or $20 retention deal, you could probably get the TV package included...just make sure the 700P supports streaming Sprint TV through the media player like on regular phones...I know the 6700 did not which was a big gripe...

Sprint TV does work on the 700p- Theres actually an icon for it. It works quite well as long as you can deal with the pixelation and one bonus on the Treo is full screen viewing.

Thank you for your input.

I guess that $10 EV-DO package is the one I'll aim for [With the credits].

I was just on the phone with retentions, asking for the tracking # for my 700p, and after that was done, I asked her if I could add to my retentions package discounted Power Vision and she shut me down, telling me no such thing is available right now, so I told her thanks and hung up. I'll try again later on today.

Again, Thank You folks for the info.

the retention "evdo" is $10 and equal to the power vsion plus. to it can be added a $5 or $10 credit as well as 500 txts for free (billed as $8-$8). you many or may not qualify but this is definately a quite normal retention offer for accounts above $60 or so that are out of contract and pay on time.

my current power vision on my bill
primary line power vsion pack (equal to Powervsion plus) : $10 - $10
primary line 500 sms: $8-$8

secondary line powervision pack: $5 -$10
secondary line 500 sms $8-$8

third line powervsion pack: $5 -$10
third line 500 sms $8-$8

I had thought I got more than one tv station but this is nt correct.

Great News!

I just received my 700p and called in to do an ESN switch and after that was done, asked to be transfered over to retentions, and upon doing so, the person at retention told me because I have a grandfathered vision plan coming from a 2,000 minute plan, that my Power Vision would be free. I asked how that could be, and just as 'Splash' indicated in the post before mine, he said he was giving me the middle tiered Power Vision Plus at the retention rate of $10 with a monthly $10 credit applied to that, hence making it free.

Thank you guys for your help!

Now unto the daunting task of learning how to use this 700p and what apps I want on it and such!
