Owner of a PPC 6700 and am using the MMS hack posted on this forum. Currently grandfathered under the $10 vision plan and am also paying additional $5 for video mail.
Is it really necessary to be paying for that additional Video Mail feature?

at this point, yes. with the system upgrades recently, the entire plan will error out if someone just tries to remove video mail, it will force the regular vision to be cancelled if any changes in plan are attempted.

How much did you pay for the phone? I have a 8300 and i want to upgrade to the 6700.
Oh man you'll love the 6700. I ended paying 85 bucks for it. First I said that verizon was giving it to me for $200 then rententions matched that (under the threat of leaving sprint all together). Then, I had them overnight it to my work address...but for some reason (and it's happened to all my friends) reps always forget to do a credit on the account which stalls the shipping. That being said, i call a week later and said that i would rather just cancel the whole thing, my phone is being held together with duct tape, bla bla bla...and then they give me a $110 credit to say they were sorry. So, voila! Here I am with a cheap phone.
Back to my original question. Can I get rid of picture mail? I know the new PV plans they offer have it built in and Retentions can work it out for you to pay $10 a month. But I'm grandfathered under the old Vision wish different features. Anyone have any personal experience with this? :music:

You don't have to pay for anything. The phone will get EVDO free. And it does not work with pic/vid mail, unless you hack the registry and download verizon's software.

Well, if you have $10 vision from before, it should have video mail included. That's how it is with my old vision plan.

if you have pic mail you will also have vids too.........that is what i just got told today by sprint
